I wish I had been more of an ******* when I worked in retail and put some customers in their place.

Yeah, I had several consoles over the years, but they stil encouraged me to get out and enjoy other things.
yeah. i always had lots of videogames. But when it was nice outside my parents forced me to go outside and play for hours each day.

You know what really grinds my gears?

I'm someone who backs into his parking spots, but heaven forbid I can't get into a spot with cars who stay right up my rear end.

Say I'm in a parking lot and I'm waiting for that one spot to be empty as a car backs out. I have my blinker on, am obviously idle and waiting, and proceed forward as the car leaves. So what do I do? I pass the spot, but Numbnuts behind me has no sense of mind to understand that I might actually be backing into this spot, so he sniffs my backside and prohibits any opportunity for me to freaking back in like he's going to take it, then he gets mad when he sees my reverse lights on.

Now what I do is I zoom past the spot, slam on the brakes, and shift to reverse as fast as humanly possible so the car has zero chance at reacting before my white lights are already showing.

Or just make things easier on everybody, don't **** around with backing in when somebody is waiting behind you.

That was just an example. I'm just saying that I normally give the indicator that I'm actually going to take the spot, but people are too impatient sometimes.

It's a gear grinder. It's not supposed to temper everyone else.

I see no problem with this. Backing in is awesome and people need patience.

Why are they even still waiting behind you if you've claimed the spot?

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. People who back in when someone is behind them is a huge gear grinder of mine. I certainly don't see how it's more efficient.

Me personally, I just park far enough away where I can pull forward and then drive straight out. Too many people have did me the favor of hitting my car in a parking lot, and I got tired of it. Had my new car for less than six months and someone drilled my rear bumper, and then later cracked my front one. Pisses me off how incompetent people can be behind the wheel, and then not have the decency to leave their info for you.

As far as backing in, it's a waste of time, and annoying for the people waiting. Chances are you can't just drive around them, because they take up the whole lane pulling this maneuver. And does it really make that big of difference to drive out of a spot straight than it does backing up when you leave? The time you waste holding everyone up, you could have already parked and been inside already. Stupid to me.

It's not like they're waiting for a minute. I mean like when we're sharking around for a spot and I notice somebody backing out right in front of me. That means there's a car who will only wait like three seconds behind me, but for some reason wants to hug me so closely even after I pass by. Hint hint?

By the way, I'm not dicking around or anything trying to tease the person behind me. My "zooming fast" approach is to get in front of the spot as quickly as possible to let them know my intentions as soon as possible, not to mess with their heads and make them think I've ignored the spot I've waited for (as noted by my blinker).

And backing in has plenty of advantages, especially the ease of getting out of a crowded lot afterward. I even prefer it in terms of actually getting into a spot anyway. Those who don't do it might not understand. Why be angry at me for taking up 1.5 extra seconds to park?

The thing is, the person behind them should be able to tell, by him having the indicator on, that he is planning on taking that spot. You shouldn't be riding someone's bumper, regardless.

Backing in is more efficient and safer to get out.

Regardless, one will 'waste' that second either parking or pulling out.

Are people really that impatient? That 3-5 seconds is going to drive you up a wall?

Given that the quality of driver is usually sub par, it usually takes waaay longer than 3-5 seconds for someone to do this.

Especially when they typically misjudge it and have to do those in and out shenanigans.

That will happen backing out of a spot, too. You will have to be patient and deal with it.

The bigger issue here is the driver behind you who accelerates as soon as you do, even though you have shown your intention of parking into that spot...*** first or not.
