Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I get so sick of peoples incessant bitching about EA football. I'm not saying they are great games, They were terrible from 06 to 09 imo, but have steadily improved, but that's for another thread.

There was a 1 min gameplay clip of NCAA released today and it was like the apocalypse in the thread. I don't know how many people said they were canceling their pre-orders. Some people keep expecting a complete overhaul. "It looks like 13." I mean did you seriously think it was gonna look completely different? I saw a number of improvements. I seriously think people don't want to see the improvements sometimes.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

What grinds my gears as of late is
1)the downfall of entertaining WWE. I used to love WWE up until 2009-ish where it became unbearable. I think me growing up some had to do with my interest dropping, but more than anything it's because the shows took a huge hit. I watch it from time to time now just to disgust myself at how awful it is now. Mid-card doesn't exist anymore, tag team division nonexistent, divas are lol now wrestling-wise and not even that cute anymore, waaaay too much talking and crappy storyline progression...what the heck happened???

2)NBA and 3-pointers. Nothing bothers me more than when a player pump fakes a player out of his shoes and he dribbles and step backs. Like what the heck, take a mid range jumper. People fall in love with the 3-point shot. Maybe if I had any semblance of a consistent jumper, I would too but I doubt it. I'm all post up baby. My cousin can hit 3-pointers all day long but as soon as you chase him off the 3-point line, he's clueless as to what to do so he steps back and tries again. People in real life need to expand their game so pick-up games don't transform into (crappy) 3-point shootouts.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Most players make deep mid ranges (19-22 feet) at about the same rate they make 3's.

It's inefficient to take long two's and that's what most defenses in the NBA are geared around. Make the other team shoot long inefficient two's and stop them from penetrating into the paint.

People spout the death of the mid range not knowing it was already dead to begin with. Its always been an inefficient shot unless it was a specialist/sharpshooter shooting from there anyway.

You do have to admit, the coincidence is odd. If not for an epic collapse by the Leafs, they (the Bruins) wouldn't even be here. Toronto had that series won.

They weren't even favored in the series, didn't have home ice, and they were half a game from winning the series. If they sucked, they'd have been swept like the Penguins. Zing!

Lol I had a friend say that the only reason the Red Sox and Bruins are doing so good is because other teams feel sorry for them and aren't playing as hard when they play them.

True, but we're still a bad team, and we were due for this. Shots correlate with wins, and we were getting out shot every game this season. We were due.

The reason the Red Sox,Bruins,Pats,Celtics are so good, is cause they care about WINNING. Something certain cities(TORONTO) doesn't care much about, instead, they care about money over winning.

And just a random thing, but I get annoyed sometimes when a SPORTS station(or website) or just any station in general that's reporting on sports, gets a teams LOGO or colors wrong.

Raptors for example, it was during NBA season(this year or last year), a sports site was still using the purple logo/colors for Raptors...something that they've changed several years ago, but they have other teams logos up to date....

And another site I saw, they have the old Jays logo(the black one), but managed to have new Houston Astros logo,Miami Marlins logo and everything else.....

Other teams this has been the case too, where these sites/stations don't even update something that was changed YEARS ago. It's not like no name sites either, these are well known sites/stations too.

On the flip side, I dislike when fans of teams say their team is "destined" to win a championship because of a tragedy, or that they "deserve it" more than other teams because of a tragedy.

                            This.

The 2001 World Series is the best example I can think of regarding fans being butthurt that their team didn't win because of something that had absolutely NOTHING to do with sports.

2001 is a good example in football, too, with people claiming a team named the "Patriots" were "destined" to win the Super Bowl, as well.

When I can't find a store locally that sells FIFA 13 for less than $40 used. I really don't want to order it online and gamestop wants $48 used and $60 new. I know 14 comes out soon but I want a new game for this summer and I'm not waiting until September
