Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Since you mentioned it, it grinds my gears when people are fans of two teams in a league. Different leagues in baseball 20 years ago when there was no interleague play, sure, but today, meh. The question always is, who are you going to cheer for if they happen to both play for the championship? And then they'll rattle off a few reasons why one is above the other, which makes it obvious you have a true favorite... so why the need to claim 2 favorites? Want to double your chances at seeing a championship?
I knew someone who was a Rams and Packers fan back in high school. Made no sense what-so-ever since they had actually met in the playoffs before. At least if you were like a Packers and Chargers fan, they might rarely play.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I dunno. I have a couple favorites in baseball (mainly due to personal interactions with the organization in spine positive ways) but the Brewers will always be my favorite no matter what.
I am also a big Nats fan because they'd always give us free tickets and I worked for them/with then at functions and stuff. Granted they were still bad then so giving tickets away was pretty much all they could do. I did get free seats to the Strasburg debut though, so that was pretty cool top be there for. I'll remember that day forever because I had never seen a crowd like that for a Nats game before. Traffic was insane, was so glad the Park was only a 10-15 minute walk from my room.badComment

But in the National League I have always had the Reds, it was my hometown team, and they hold a special place in my heart for me. But if the Yankees and Reds ever faced, I would root for the Yankees, and abandon the Reds.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
At least baseball, even with interleague, you rarely see a team for a series. But I have never called myself a fan of other teams. I'm a Blue Jays fan. I follow the Indians because I lived there for 5 years and have friends who are Indians fans. If they make the playoffs, sure, I'd like to see them win, but I won't suddenly claim I was a fan the whole time, which is what usually happens with people who follow multiple teams.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Barbers who insist on talking to you.
The one nice and relaxing time in a day where I kind of just get to close my eyes and be able to turn off my brain as well, they just yap their heads off asking me things that they won't ever remember about me.
I know they're going for the tip, but I can't truly believe that they enjoy telling their life story over and over. I sure as hell know I don't like it. I just don't want them to think I'm a rude, unfriendly person because I'm not talking to them or I only answer their questions as they ask them.
The only difference would be if you go in there so regularly that you and your barber are friends and having an actual dialogue, or that you're describing how you want your hair actually cut or whatever.
I understand the job can be boring, and if you just cut people's hair then they paid you all day that you might crave conversation, but I'd prefer I sparked it, not them.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I have family in Pittsburgh and I love PNC Park, so I like the Pirates. I hope they do well in the playoffs and win the World Series if they get there.
But if the Braves and Pirates meet up in a playoff series, with all due respect to my family in Pittsburgh, **** the Pirates.Comment
