That's how I always grouped them. Country people are for the most part good people. They like to drink, hunt, love their trucks, and earn a honest living.

The rednecks are trailer trash, you've seen em, if you live in the south. Ignorant, racist, drunks and probably drugs, and beat their wives lol. That's my definition of a redneck.

My brother-in-law is a redneck, and he does none of those things, he's a farmer that likes to hunt. So no, redneck =/= trailer trash.

It's just a word, he described his definition of a redneck and clearly your brother doesn't meet it so to him your brother is not a redneck. No need to make more of it.....

It clearly means different things to each of you, I don't think there is a true definition of the word....

Sounds like a good guy, I don't know what your arguing about, that's just how I grouped them. I wouldn't group your brother in law in that category.

You don't judge a book by it's cover, but hang out with a trailer trash redneck for a few minutes. It doesn't take long. Where I was at, most were racist, two people had tattoos marking their involvement in the Aryan Brotherhood. You saw the way they treated their women, you saw the way they lived, and the ignorance. That's what I meant by a redneck.

Guy Harvey is a clothing brand Burgh, it's a boating shirt basically. You'll see them in Bass pro shops. Shirts with fish on them. We always made jokes, that if you have a guy harvey on, and some camo stuff, you must be country.

Alot of boys around there had their parents buy them a brand new truck off the lot, and then they ran around acting like they worked for it. Stupid High School stuff basically.

A twist on this, from the opposite angle, is when people ask for simple medical tips and the advice is ALWAYS "you should see a doctor".
