Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
haha the worst was a couple of years back I was with a friend and he orders a plain cheeseburger. The lady asks if he wants cheese then. He's all did I order a cheeseburger or a hamburger?
It was pretty hilarious cuz he made the waiter feel like s***, but it was one of those moments, common sense people.Comment

Going to a resteraunt, ordering a Cheeseburger with bacon and asking for mayo only and having them bring me meat and mayo and thats it. Why in the hell would I pay extra for bacon and cheese only to have you take it off, is that a damn donation?Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I think we all have those moments at fast food places. Just this weekend i ordered three double cheeseburgers KETCHUP ONLY from McD's (2 for me, 1 for fiancee) and 2 medium fries and a 6 piece McNugget.......what did i get? no nuggets, three hamburgers, no cheese, 1 had ketchup, 1 had pickles.........wtf? I can understand them screwing it up (actually no i cant) but to screw them each up differently? Thats a special flavor of ****** right there.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
As for what grinds me gears, professors who cancel class, but decide not to leave any kind of notice. I check my e-mails every morning before class, to see if any of my classes were cancelled. I didn't see any e-mails saying class was cancelled, and when I got to class there was no note on the door notifying us that class was cancelled.
I walk in the room and people are sitting there like usual. We all sit there for around fifteen minutes, and no one shows up. No note on the door, no e-mail, nothing. Finally we all just walked out and said the hell with it.
I only had one class, so I just went home. What a waste of a morning.
Today marks the third or fourth time this year he's done this.Comment

What is even better for me at drive-thru's is the confirmation screen they have, showing your correct order only for it to still be screwed up.Comment

At 9:35 our professor walks in 35 minutes late and decides to give the class a pop quiz. Now granted that over half the class has already left because she was a half hour late, but now she decides to give a pop quiz? Seriously WTF.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I have one better. I had a class at 9 this morning and we're all sitting there for 15 minutes or so and our professor doesn't show up. Some people started leaving, but since it was a computer lab I was just on OS since I didn't feel like walking 20 minutes back to my dorm.

Driving on I-84 Eastbound from NY through CT towards Waterbury. It's only two lanes and there are so many damn truckers out there who try to pass each other in the left lane. If you're a car out there it's hopeless. Every couple of miles you'll have to come to a complete stop for no reason other than the fact that the truck drivers are a-holes. You'll be going 40-50 mph the entire time."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

YKWRGMG:
Using family or close friends of the family to do work for you. We used my wife's cousin to plow this winter and he absolutely destroyed our back yard with his plowing. He managed to completely destroy a slate patio and boy do I mean destroy. The thing is I have no idea why he was even plowing in that area to begin with, I specifically told him not to. So now our back yard is wrecked, I get stuck with the backbreaking job of cleaning it up and I can't do a damned thing about it. If he wasn't related to my wife, given the extensive amount of damage, I would probably take legal action. But because it's my wife's cousin, who she he isn't even close with at that, I (we) are stuck eating hundreds of dollars worth of damage because he was a moron. Funny, the plow guy we used last year (who dropped us when he got a bigger truck that couldn't fit up our driveway) didn't cause even a fraction of the damage,
Then there was the contractor for our kitchen. We purchased a door that had to be custom cut because of the age of the house. The door was a complete piece of garbage and splintered and is falling apart. Of course according to him this was our fault for not doing something that we were never told we had to do in terms of sealing the door (what did I pay him for again?). Now it's getting worse and worse and finally my Father-in-law got him to do something about it. Again, if not for the close relationship to my wife's family and the fact that if the contractor pulled his business my FIL's place of work would go out of business, I would take serious action to remedy this. Instead I basically need to take it in the *** from this piece of crap, and not sue for the beyond faulty workmanship in our kitchen.
I know I can be too litigious at times, but if anyone on this message board posted similar problems minus the familial/business relationships, I would advise them to take legal action against those who harmed them. But I myself can't do the same. It drives me bonkers.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
She is the worst professor I've ever had though. Every class she is constantly 5-10 minutes late and I have no idea how she still has a job. It's not like she has seniority either because she just started teaching last semester.
Here's some glorious reviews of her:

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Well I don't know if it's a written rule anywhere, but every pretty much gives the professor 15-20 minutes before they leave the class. Turns out my professor decided to change the quiz to extra credit though, so those that left aren't hurt by not taking it.
