I see stories of people stealing from toy drives and charities all the time during the holiday season. Can we please be decent towards each other for a few weeks? Too much to ask I guess.

Or a day or a minute.

      Probably never.

At the very least we could all be phony pleasant to each other. That'd be enough for me.

Having worked behind the bar, I can say that it amazes me how many people leave full glasses of beer without finishing them.

Like two sips and walk out. They paid for it too.

And it's NEVER a beer they wanted to try and didn't like. No. It's "I'm gonna get another one." Here you go. Two sips. "Later!"

I always hated having to pour those beers down the drain. Just watching good beer go to waste. Yeah, we made money on it, but as a beer drinker, it hurt.

I feel bad doing that with a Coke or Iced Tea I got (free refills)...

I'd never do that with a near full beer. I could see if you had to drive home or something, but then why order it?

When you go to locally owned shops and restaurants and try to support them to the best of your ability, but their lack of service or appreciation takes the fun out of the support.

You'd think waiters at locally owned restaurants would be more friendly and prompt with service rather than being the opposite.

Usually waiters at locally owned places be relatives, so they have that I'm family so I don't give a **** because I can't be fired attitude.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I left a half a beer on the bar last week for the first time in my life and it bothered me more then it should. I didn't order it though so I keep telling myself it's ok. The bartender misunderstood and brought me a pint instead of taking my growler to fill that was sitting on the bar right in front of me.

I was starving since I had skipped lunch that day and it was a high ABV beer. Half a pint and I was feeling it already. I had a 20 minute drive home still so I did the responsible thing and left it. out:

Gave the bartender extra tip though since she could have just poured it down the drain. That would have ground my gears big time.

In a similar vain, it bothers me when my sister doesn't eat all of her food when we go to a restaurant. She will eat like two chicken tenders out of like five and only a eight fries. I mean, I don't mind eating it, since it's free food and what not, but I hate seeing money wasted like that. It's why I usually get the same thing at restaurants, not because I'm picky, but because I don't want to order something and waste money. I'll try stuff at my dining court because it's "free", but when I have to fork over money, I'll play it safe.

I don't know what it is about people leaving food that bothers me so much. If I'm at a restaurant, I'll sit there until I can finish my plate and I'll even chug the rest of my drink before I go.

I never leave food at a restaurant. You can always take it home with you. I appreciate my food. When you pay for it, that's what happens.

When I have to throw out bad food from the fridge, I feel like a horrible person. I really do think about all the people who don't or can't have food that could have eaten it.

Just yesterday I threw out some Mac n cheese and was thinking how funny food is. In it's edible form, it's only good for so long. What a sick joke, Mother Nature/science/life. The mind wanders sometimes...

My wife is like this. She'll save EVERY leftover from dinner even though she realizes we'll have to dump it on Sunday when we don't eat it. Just kills her to not give it a chance.

I hate taking food home from a restaurant unless I planned to do so in advance. No matter how full I've become I'll still finish those last few bites. Then I get home and regret it.
