I don't understand why people do that lol, my old roommate did it every time and then she wouldn't fix it until she was leaving and started backing up diagonally.

Unless you're pointing up (or down) hill, I don't see why people keep their tires turned.

Yeah. From the tone of the post, I pictured the kid as 18+ who doesn't really have his own place, but pops in when it's convenient.

Haha. His description of his kid is hilarious if true.

I picture him owning a laundry mat and just as he finishes his work load some regular who hadn't been in a while finally decides to come get some things dry cleaned.

No answers regarding this laundry situation is grinding my gears.

I do this, but with reason. The long wheel-base on my truck isn't the easiest to swing, especially when Joe Blow pulls right in next to me on the line and the parking is already tight. Come to think of it, my excuse sucks, really. I tell myself I do it to help judge while backing out.

I've been lying to myself all along... ah well.

DirecTV flagging my account because I called twice in a month to get my bill lowered and/or get some freebies after they bumped my monthly bill up without any notice. So I kindly told them to send me a box to send all of their crap back in. Charter installs tomorrow for $49 less each month and an additional 100+ channels (most of which I'll never watch, but hey). Oh, and I won't have any kind of contract with Charter.

I remember awhile ago I had a similar problem with my cable company, just decided to call one day to act like I was gonna change companies, next thing I know, they offer me some huge deal where I now save like 25% per month off the regular bill AND I got a free brand new DVR out of it.

Even if people have no intention of switching, if you've never complained to your cable/internet company before(or just not recently), look around on the internet and see if people have been able to get special deals out of threatening to switch, and if they do, then you should try it too, you never know what might happen!

Tried that with Time Warner Cable here a few years back, had never complained or threatened to switch before. They jacked the price of cable and internet up so we called hoping to get a deal by threatening to cancel...they didn't even care, were pretty much like "k, BYE!" So we switched to Direct TV, gonna need to get a reduction or switch soon though.

Yeah Optimum/CableVision did the same to me.

They just let me walk away. So I did.

Maybe it just happens in Canada then? I'm surprised it doesn't happen as often in USA, cause I'd have expected it to be the other way around. USA has way more choices for providers in all of this while Canada has only a few, so I'd have thought USA would be the one who'd offer discounts to retain people while Canada wouldn't care.

It may seem like we have a lot of choices, but they're all regional. Most everyone can get DirecTV or Dish. But here in KC we only have Time Warner or AT&T Uverse, and some places don't even get Uverse. Google Fiber is now an option too in some places (including my house ). A lot of rural places may only have the satellite companies to work with. With a potential Comcast-Time Warner merger happening, those choices will slim even further.
