Movie theater prices. The wife and I went to see Spider-Man in 3D last night, got a combo with 2 sodas, 1 popcorn and a small bag of M&M's. I had a gift card for $50 and still had to give them 25 cents. Bloody outrageous!

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Yeah I always get snacks from the CVS around the corner from the theater I go to before going in. I'm not a huge fan of popcorn so this works outComment

That's why I never buy food.
Or go to movies much anymore.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
The tickets were $14.99 each and the combo was $20.24. Grand total was $50.22. And I had the Cineplex Scene card which gave me a discount on the food. It would have been more than that without it. I'll be picking up our snacks at the Dollar store across the street in future.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Unless I have a date or something I always go to the movie theaters before noon/1PM. $7 movie tickets aren't bad.
I also never go see anything in 3D though, never saw the point of it.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Yeah, for most movies, I'd rather blind buy it on bluray instead of spending $25 on tickets for two people. Same price, but I have it forever.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

Went to a matinee Wednesday and it was still $17.50 for 2 tickets. I love going to the movies, but it's ridiculous how expensive it is.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
We have a Cinemark here that charges $4 for a matinee and $8.50 for a 3D ticket. It's a little out of the way, but you can't beat their prices.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
How a girls room can be spotless and more clean and sanitary than a hospital, and their vehicles are ****ing warzones. I hate riding with a girl because every time I get in I have to move 3 or 4 fast food bags and throw **** in the back seat.
It's not that hard to keep it clean. Not tidy or spotless, I'm not expecting a 07 Camry to be fresh of the lot clean, but come on. I should be able to see the carpet. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

If you see a car with the front wheels covered in break dust, it's 99.9999% likely to be owned by a female between ages 16-22.Comment

Most of my female friends keep the inside of their cars and trucks spotless. A lot of my male friends however don't.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
The movies is now beyond ridiculous, I'm shocked they can still keep their businesses open cuz it's beyond being a little expensive, its astronomically expensive.
I use to enjoy going for the experience of it but I don't even find that worth it anymore. Now that I'm married the wife and I find it cheaper and more convenient to just rent an on demand movie at home and it's a better experience cuz I only have to watch it with the one person I actually care to see it with. Don't have to deal with the drive, the parking, the lines, the food lines , among other things. Now that I think of it too, I especially am way too sick of having to navigate through three quarters of the nearby middle school just to watch a movie. Kids are kids but it's more than obnoxious to have to be around a large group of them for more than a few minutes. I'm definitely showing my age but oh well. Sue me.
