This reminds me of a time I had bloodwork to be done and nobody told me you had to fast. I spent at least an hour in the waiting room (despite having an appointment), which is a bit of an anxiety fear for me, just to be rejected because I scarfed a granola bar before I left.

Which brings up another gear grinding grievance, waiting rooms when you have an appointment. What's the point of having an appointment if you have to wait an hour to get in anyway?

Oh and to add to the fun: it grinds my gears that if I get behind a stolen car and it takes off...I can't even pursue it! (Unless it's involved in a robbery or car jacking or any crime dangerous to life)

So let's say I roll up to buckeyes house after going 25mph. I see a guy carrying a flatscreen HD TV to a car and I observe the back door kicked in. That guy gets in the car and takes off...

        I can't chase!

        LOL
Thats my tax dollars at work right there.

Of course you shouldnt drive 25 mph thats exaggerating a little too much. The cops around here weave in and out of traffic, run red lights, etc..

Cops can do what they want when they want. Just depends where you work.

#1- Blame those who write the policy and directives

#2- It's no exaggeration. If the speed limit is 25mph and there's possibly a crime happening at your house you want me to go 25mph.

#3- Officers can't do what they want where they want. This would be considered exaggeration.

While that is nice to believe, in reality it is far too common. For example; http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/29/ny...pagewanted=all

A three-year investigation into the police’s habit of fixing traffic and parking tickets in the Bronx ended in the unsealing of indictments on Friday and a stunning display of vitriol by hundreds of off-duty officers, who converged on the courthouse to applaud their accused colleagues and denounce their prosecution.

As 16 police officers were arraigned at State Supreme Court in the Bronx, incensed colleagues organized by their union cursed and taunted prosecutors and investigators, chanting “Down with the D.A.” and “Ray Kelly, hypocrite.”

As the defendants emerged from their morning court appearance, a swarm of officers formed a cordon in the hallway and clapped as they picked their way to the elevators. Members of the news media were prevented by court officers from walking down the hallway where more than 100 off-duty police officers had gathered outside the courtroom.

The assembled police officers blocked cameras from filming their colleagues, in one instance grabbing lenses and shoving television camera operators backward.

The unsealed indictments contained more than 1,600 criminal counts, the bulk of them misdemeanors having to do with making tickets disappear as favors for friends, relatives and others with clout. But they also outlined more serious crimes, related both to ticket-fixing and drugs, grand larceny and unrelated corruption. Four of the officers were charged with helping a man get away with assault.
Just for the record; I am not after anyone or anything, just giving my 2 cents about #3 of NDAlums statement.

This ticket-fixing scandal like most/all cop scandals has been rebutted with the classic "just some bad apples" line. That line is often met with another classic "when the other officers refuse to speak up about it, it certainly does make the department look bad".

So what is it when 500 of their buddies (LEOs) take their own time to come out and cry for "professional privilege" holding signs proclaiming "It's a Courtesy Not a Crime" and being recorded saying things like "I stopped caring about the law a long time ago"?

That's right... its just a bad apple here and there. No way it could be complete and total institutional corruption or anything. Silly me .

Obviously this does not apply to all officers of the law, but more specifically the NYPD in this case.

Side note: I do have one word to describe these "officers" and their supporters: Abhorrent

The idea of professional privilege is a farce in itself. Why should an enforcer of the law not be subject to the same rules of the law? It makes absolutely no sense. Police officers in general should be held to a higher standard in regards to the law and there punishment should be equal if not more than the average citizen as protectors/enforcers of the law, in my opinion.

Mods: this is not meant to be a 'political' thing, more for reference on the point buckeye was making

And this video reminds me of something that grinds my gears. Guys who wear mouth pieces, but use them as a chew toy. What's the point of it if your just going to chew on the damn thing?

That's kind of why I stopped playing it. It lets you just try words until you find a combination that works. I prefer to just play Scrabble with the actual board and another person.

Yeah, I have a tendency to mute mics while I'm playing through major titles. Had one time where people were talking about Uncharted 2's ending in the game's multiplayer. Fortunately for me, I'd already beaten it.

Not worried about it for Battlefield since the only voices you hear are those in your party, but I just know some random douche in UC3 would spoil Skyrim for me....
