Cashiers at the grocery store who can't pack a bag properly. Yeah, lets place dish soap and laundry detergent in with apples and bananas. Idiot!

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I work for various major movie studios and often have had the misfortune of working in the UK over the past 10 years including an almost unbearable 1 year stint in and around London, bar a very rare exception as soon as one of them heard my accent I apparently ceased to be a human being and more of a verbal pinata. Man they hate us.
My folks moved to Ireland due to my Mom's job being there last year. The people in the town they lived treated them like utter crap because of our nation. The locals were like something out of a horror movie. My folks fled a year earlier then the work visa had on it and I lodged a formal complaint with the Irish Consulate. Thankfully they are never going back there.
Yes I know in this PC world I am seen as the devil for not liking a nation and it's people and yes I know the whole country can't be complete 'expletive deleted' but I aim to stick to the good ol' USAand hope the idiots who my family and I encountered (on work, not vacation that is) stick to their country.
God Bless The USAComment

Maybe they just didn't like that you were living in their town a little longer term than just visiting. I know that the locals in the small town that I grew up in give out-of-towners that move there the stink eye.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Old people who don't understand the rules of the road.
I was leaving Wal Mart and was in the turning lane at a huge intersection. I was trying to turn left back onto the main roadway and the green turn signal had went away, but the main lights were still green and there was absolutely no traffic coming from the other side. There's also a huge sign that says 'Left turn signal yield on green' and these old people continued to sit there and I honked the horn. They still didn't get what I was trying to tell them and then we had to sit there for the light to make another cycle.
I hate people who are so oblivious to what's going on around them, while they are behind the wheel.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
When I say I haven't seen a certain movie/read a certain book/heard of a certain band, and the person I'm talking to goes, "OH MY GOD, JUST LEAVE! GO TO HELL! SERIOUSLY, STOP TALKING TO ME ANYMORE! YOU ARE SUCH AN INGRATE!"
It's cool to just, like, brag about what I haven't yet experienced to hype my later exposure to it, but no need to bring me down because I haven't yet encountered something that they hadn't once encountered at one point either. I could play that game with them about ten million other things as well.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I'm a manager at a gas station in downtown St. Louis...some of the items I had out bags for are definitely head scratching.
It's like, "Really? You need a bag for the mini-bic you just bought with sticky change?" Fine.
Or, "Oh, you need a bag for your chips...that already come in a bag?" Alright.Last edited by Stroehms; 12-21-2011, 03:13 AM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Brothers who are unable to pitch efficient batting practice.
Cities who don't have a large enough field to take batting practice, thus the loyal citizens of that city lose a lot of baseballs after a couple of rounds of batting practice. (We even use wood bats, and that doesn't prevent us from losing our balls.) he he
Cities who dig up home plate for the winter, trying to prevent their loyal citizens from using their too small of a field for batting practice. This act by the city could have a small effect on the brother's ability to throw strikes, but that brother's inaccuracy is usually in the "too high" or "in the dirt" catagory, thus revoking the "it's the cities fault" excuse.
Stupid rain saturating the all dirt infield on the much too small baseball field, making it impossible to take batting practice.Last edited by sydrogerdavid; 12-21-2011, 03:39 AM.Comment

Leaning back on my office chair with the bar "locked in" only to have it slip out randomly and scare the crap out of me.

The NFL game thread titles in the Pro Football forum. It was kinda funny the first time, but now it's flat out annoying. It's just crazy **** now and you have to almost guess which team they're referring to.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
People who say they won't see WALL·E because there isn't any dialogue in it.
Of course, only someone who hasn't seen it could even say that. Fact of the matter is, WALL·E probably has more dialogue in it than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. I know that's not saying much, but it says enough.
Oh, and not a gear-grinder, but just weird... every other time I go to a fast food restaurant and ask to eat it "for here," I seem to be given a to-go bag when I receive my order. Like, they even ask me at the register if I'd like to eat it there. I check my receipt, and notice that they messed up. How is it that they always seem to press the take-out button?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
