When you look at the cable guide on tv and it says something is on a channel and then you go there, it isn't on at all.Comment

Along those lines, when someone uses your computer and they start poking around, looking around in your HDD, internet history/bookmarks, etc. It's not that there is something there, it's the principle. It's like you being invited into my house and then digging in my dresser drawers.Comment

When rain ruins plans....
Edit: Just kidding, I thought rain was gonna ruin my plans but the rain kept getting pushed back and never came until after midnight. So that brings me to my next gear grinder, when the weather man is wrong and gets me flustered for no reason.Last edited by Champion8877; 09-08-2012, 11:38 AM.Comment

National Consumer Panel
About a year ago, maybe more, my mother was invited to join this NCP Homescan thing, it was a little scanner you used to log all your purchases. When the scanner came she was busy and didn't open it right away, a week later she starts receiving rather nasty emails about being kicked out and such, that should have been a sign to get the hell out. So she sets up the scanner and starts, the thing is a pain to use basically adding an hour to putting groceries away. Months later the rewards were piddly, you get points but at the rate she earned them she might have been able to get a $25 crock pot in a year, the scanning itself was a giant pain, and if the thing failed to transmit, which it did often because the thing was a POS, she would get nasty emails, calls, and a couple of letters in the mail. I told her to just send the thing back, they had a prepaid return label in the box it came in, so she packed it up, slapped the label on, and gave it to FedEx. Now she's getting nasty calls, threatening letters, etc saying she has to pay $200 for the scanner. She told them she sent it back using their label and they don't care, they are just demanding a tracking number which she doesn't have because she used their label.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
My wife use to do that BS for years. Took her damn near a year just to get enough points for a regular coffee maker. And that coffee maker broke 1 month later. I was like that's it, mail them their scanner back. Because it really do delay putting groceries away when you have to scan everything.
Luckily we never got any calls or letters about it at all.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Searching the internet I've seen a lot of accounts of people who sent the thing back and they tried to charge, some said they had a tracking number and that took care of it, but we have no tracking number since we used their label to return it.
And, you know, if they weren't trying to charge $200 for that little POS scanner I would just pay them and tell them to go **** themselves, but it's insulting to try and charge $200 for a $30 (if that) piece of tech.Comment

When people try to talk smart in their reply comment on a Youtube video that is 3 years or more old. I always feel obligated to tell them that umm you know that video is 3 years old, the technology and product you speak of didn't exist back then.Comment
