Example:
Old Man GMSS: I hate Chicken.
PPM: You should try Popeye's Chicken. It's pretty good especially when you get it fresh out of the fryer.
This is basically what you're post describes so how is that considered someone "forcing" something onto you when all they're doing is giving you a suggestion?
Isn't being open minded the exact opposite of what you said?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
No....more like I say I don't eat chicken. And every time I talk to them they bring it up and tell me new recipes for chicken saying it would change my mind about chicken. When in reality that wasn't even the subject of the conversation so why the hell you bringing up chicken when we were talking about something else.
That is what I mean.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
But if he hates chicken why would you suggest a chicken shack?
I have a friend that always does this with R&B. I'm just not an R&B fan, but she's always trying to suggest a new group or artist I might like.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

I love having interesting discussions with people I disagree with, but some people take it as a personal challenge to "convert" me or something...Drives me nuts.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
You got people that don't like Chicken but yet never had it before.
You got people that never listened to R&B before and think it's the worst thing ever. Same goes for Rap Music or any other genre as well.
I could use more examples but hopefully you get my drift. And in his OP, it sounded like he's not open minded at all. It might've been the examples he chose because they weren't good ones.#RespectTheCultureComment

Yeah, but the things these kids do is ridiculous. I'm not TOS-familiar so I won't mention it but I feel horrible for my female friends lol."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
yeah things seem to be getting worse as the generations go on. Social media and everyone having a camera, internet connection constantly is corrupting the youth. i graduated HS in 2006. People were idiots but everyone pretty much knew their boundaries.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
People being dumb.
We're going to dinner for my bday, trying to get everyone together. People start complaining that this place is too expensive. Yeah like me and my girl, who are the only ones who live by ourselves and not with our parents, are gonna pick an expensive place. I was like y'all have smartphones, look up the damn menu and pricing. I literally had to send them a link. There's actually a Monday night special too.
Dumb **** just pisses me off. Use your damn head.
These same people can go out drinking and go to concerts whenever so don't pull that money card on me. Regardless, I don't even care if you can't come because you can't afford it. Trust me I've declined going out because I'm perpetually broke. Just don't be an idiot about it! Geez.
I especially like questions like: "Where is it?"
You have a smart phone. You constantly look up things all the time. Why do I have to get you the address? Google it.
I actually did the opposite once prior to a date. I sent a girl the address to our meet up spot. She texts me back: "I know how to use google."
She calls me 30 minutes later. "I'm lost."
At least she admitted her embarrassment and played it off enough for me to not knock her as a dimwit."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I wish grocery stores would enforce the "20 items or less" policy. I was in a hurry today, the U-Scans were packed, plus they're new and still getting the kinks worked out, so my only choice was 1 of the 2 open lanes. The regular lane, full of people with 75 items in their cart, or the 20 items or less lane, full of people with 75 items in their cart

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Maybe they could program the scanners in the express lanes to end the transaction at 20 items. Somehow there must be a way!Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

People blaming technolgoy for lazy *** kids.
My parents had an NES when I was born. I loved video games as a kid. That doesn't mean I got to play it all the time when I was a little.
Yeah, I had several consoles over the years, but they stil encouraged me to get out and enjoy other things.Comment
