With far less frequency. Pulling out/in is different. People have more patience for those getting out.

It's a lot easier to just back out of spot, than it is to back into one.

Which doesn't make sense to me. I'm patient either way, but I don't understand how one can be patient for one and not the other. Well, I guess it's a psychological thing...the one pulling out, probably means the person waiting is about to park. Still, damn people need to be patient.

Only time I ever think about backing in is if I'm going to something like a sporting event where everyone is going to be leaving at the same time. Otherwise, I don't see the need, and when someone does it in a parking lot with a lot of open spots, it can be annoying.

I've always just considered it courtsey to not back in if there are people behind me. To each his own I guess.

I can back in a parking spot just as fast as I can pull in.

I guess a year working for a car dealership and pulling trailers since I was 16 has a lot to do with that.

edit: This is part of why I find it funny that MEPS said I failed the depth perception test. My depth perception is just fine, especially after working for a few years at Home Depot running a reach truck, fork lfit, and order picker.

AU, I'd have to say you are in the minority. I have yet to encounter a person backing into spot that did it in one try.

Parallel parking really grinds my gears. I'm good at it and can do it with my eyes closed in my car, but I hate it.

I can think of several people I know who could do it, but I'm guessing you're talking about people randomly doing it in public ?

I don't typically back into a parking spot unless the parking lines are all ready straight. If they are slanted and it's designed to back out and go a certain direction, that just ****s everything up because you'll have to pull out and go the wrong way.

I do it when I go to the mall, just because they are straight and I've been driving a big truck lately. It's tough to back out there without just cutting someone off.

Generally speaking, parking lots grind my gears.

You must not have seen people drive Honda Civics. I've been doing it with mine for the past eight years. Do you seriously want me to record this to show you? Because most people around here know I will.

Not a fan of parallel parking either. Plus I rarely do it now, so my skills have left me. In college I was a wizard at it. Still such a pain when the spots are tiny.

I agree with the dislike of people backing in when the lot is super busy. Everyone I see who does it has to readjust like 3-4 times and doesn't always let people pass them before trying again. If you can actually back in quickly then I don't care, but I see these people in their huge SUV's that misjudge it and take forever.

I'll pull through a spot (or back in) at church or other big events (sports) where it'll really help me leave. Otherwise it's usually not worth it (especially if a lot is busy).

Oh, I believe there are people who are awesome at it...there are also just a ton of people with big cars that are terrible at it and take forever...that's what grinds my gears, not people like you.
