I'll pull through a spot (or back in) at church or other big events (sports) where it'll really help me leave. Otherwise it's usually not worth it (especially if a lot is busy).
I would actually agree too. If I see a crowd behind me or whatever, I'll do what I can to make things quick. If that means turning in forward at the drop of a hat, then by all means that's okay with me.

All I was really concerned about is that people seem to think I have shown to wanted a spot... and then for some reason I stopped wanting it despite my blinker, slight outward turn, and braking again? They haven't seen someone back in before?

Here's actually another example: I might find somebody who is leaving, and then ease in front of the spot so I can back in, reverse lights on and everything. When that car backs out, the schnub who came after me behind the spot decides to turn in as I'm waiting for the car to finally leave. Jackass steals my spot because he can, not because he didn't see me or think I would be too slow. I'll be just as fast because I'm already in position.

Respect us skilled backer-inners and let us do our thing without interference.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Girl: What days are you off

      Me: Wednesday and Sunday typically

Girl: Oh, do you have anything planned ?

I didn't respond for 15 minutes and she sends this

Girl: If you don't want to hang out, you can just tell me.

What I want to say: What the **** ? I'm at work trying to make some paper so I can do things like hang out with people. Chill.

What I'll likely say: No, I've just been busy at work.

These situations just grind my gears. For the record, this isn't the girl I've been seeing. I'm nowhere near a Girl A and Girl B situation like some around here are. It's just a girl I dated in HS. I wish I could break away from her completely sometimes, but I fell hard for that girl at 16 years old.

She's married and has a kid and randomly texts me wanting to hang out sometimes. She even wanted me to go fishing with her huband one time.

Me hanging with him and thinking, "I wonder how much worse it is now than when I was in it back in High School".. yeah.. not what I want to do.

It's just a situation I want to avoid all together. I'm not hanging with some girl I use to date's husband and hiding the fact that we dated off and on for most of HS.

All kinds of gear grinding going on in this ****ing post.

Yeah, I was trying to help out marshallfever (don't know if he ever learned how to do it afterward). The camera work was crap and the recording went black halfway through, but I'll do anything to help out a fellow OS'er.

I still have yet to carry through with a promise to ExtremeGamer and show him how to play Guitar Hero past Medium difficulty.

Judging by public restrooms I have been in; I want to say there is one big misconception floating around.

              Urinal is for gum.

Floor under the urinal is where you p*ss.

Just saw someone toss a business card on the ground...when there was a trash can one step away. No. Not hyperbole. One step away. Within arm's reach.

                Really??!

I went out of my way to help people who were really nice, but I was less then enthusiastic about helping people who are *******s. Solved many problems working plumbing, kitchen and bath, and appliances.. And the other departments too.

Being a smart *** was helpful in the days as a cart guy. Those Whole Foods customers didn't know what was coming. I've never dealt with so many people who felt as entitled in my life. Put more than a few in their place...no yelling or use of obscene words.

When people immediately try and politicize a tragedy.

No discussion on this one, but it's sad.

Agreed. If you have a supportive boss that knows a customer is trying to barrel into you, they will usually let it fly if you smart *** your way through the situation. I got through many tough times that way and still feel good about how I handled those situations.

Of course, you should also be a strong customer service employee. If you're just a smart *** all the time, it doesn't matter how wrong the customer is.

Thanks to high-powered video cameras these days, next time I do it I won't actually be swinging in slow-motion and I can let the camera slow it down for me.

Speaking of which, my new gear-grinder: fundamentals coaches that steal your players away as clients for a fast buck and no gain on their end. $50 for a half hour BP session?
