Stuck between a rock and a hard place. I cut her mother off (and she doesn't, which I can't realistically ask her to do), I look like an ***. I don't, and we keep going in circles. I know my fiancé won't... The relationship isn't the same being as we're on our own, but am I gonna duck her at our wedding? What about our future children? I'm gonna have to end up swallowing my pride... well, it's not even pride. Me and my fiancé are trying to make a life for us, it's hard enough out here without adding some made-up drama to the mix. I'm just sick of them barging into our lives and adding stress to our lives.

Of course I got a "I STILL LOVE YOU GUYS" text this evening. Like I said, forgive and forget, again and again and again. At some point you have to put your foot down, say you need help and REAL change, and evaluate down the line. I haven't talked to one of my brothers in almost 2 years now. He crossed the line one too many times. It's tough, I think about him a lot. But I can't reopen communication, not yet. At some point you have to say enough is enough! I'm sick of people doing whatever they want, offering up some half-assed "sorry" and we go about it like they haven't wronged us while we just let it happen.

No one wants to be a doormat, no one wants to play the fool, but no one wants to make the tough decisions, either. I'm saying it right here and right now, I'm gonna have the courage to put my foot down and keep it there. I don't want to see, hear, or smell this woman for an indefinite time. Down the line, I'm absolutely open to communication. In the meantime, stay out of, at least, MY life. She's gonna suck those around me into it again, but it ain't gonna be me. I will be civil if we cross paths, but I will also stand my ground if confronted about it. I know I'll be made to be the bad guy; talk never hurt me. I'll take that hit if that means you stay away from me.

    Ugh!

A sausage mcmuffin is on the $1 menu. Sausage mcmuffin with egg? $3.29!?!

So they're basically charging $2.29 for an egg?! You can buy a carton of extra large eggs for less than that.

      Really grinds my gears.
Oh yeah, I have the same gripe with In-N-Out Burger. Going to have to digress for this rant though (here comes Blzer)...

In-N-Out Burger has a secret menu for special orders, such as "animal style" burgers and fries. For the burger, this means pickles, grilled onions, mustard-fry and extra spread sauce. This comes at no extra cost. Animal style fries add two slices of cheese, grilled onions and spread. The price is almost $2.00 more (I think $1.90, in fact).

I know what you're thinking: the difference here seems to be the cheese. I would agree, because I normally just order cheese fries from there and it costs the same as animal style fries with the other stuff (which gets included on the burgers as well, so again it makes sense).

But here's what doesn't make sense: why do two slices of cheese cost two dollars? I'm not asking about the price itself, but I've had extra cheese added to my burgers as well (like a 3x3 instead of a 2x2, etc.) and even that isn't as expensive as an add-on.

I once asked them to ring me up for a 2x3 (two patties, three slices of cheese) and before taxes it was a 30 cent charge. If two slices on a burger is 60 cents, why is it over 300% more expensive on fries?

My friend says it's because of the little microwave oven or whatever that they use to nuke the cheese. That could be, except if you order animal style fries without cheese, the cost is the same as regular fries.

This all just doesn't make much sense at all, and it really is just simple math.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

They do it because they know that for every one of you that is bothered by it, there are dozens that don't even blink an eye. They just pay it. Part of it I'm sure is done by demand. Certain things sell better so they make up the losses they take on other items by not raising the price as much.

Otherwise? Maybe they threw a dart at a board and picked prices. I know if I was running a restaurant, I'd set prices so that I was making money on every single item, period, and then you buy supplies based on demand rather than making prices that don't make sense. But maybe that's just the OCD.

The question I would ask steven is just how much an egg mcmuffin is. I haven't been forever so I wouldn't know, but if just an egg mcmuffin is $2.59 say, then yes, they may very well be charging $2.29 for the egg.

$1 for the sausage McMuffin (.30 cents for the muffin, .70 for the sausage)
$2.59 for the egg McMuffin (.30 cents again, 2.29 for the egg)

Add them up and toss the 2nd English muffin and you get your $3.29. It's fast food, you're almost ALWAYS going to pay more (the $1 menu is one of those exceptions, but buying in bulk certainly gets them better prices) than you could to make something at home. You could buy a bag of bagels for around $3, carton of eggs for $3, a pound of sausage for around $2-$3, and a pack of American cheese for $3. $12 would make you 6 sandwiches, but if you go there, you'll pay about $4 I think for a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. It's not worth comparing the price in store. It'll never be cheaper.

A regular egg mcmuffin has ham on it so I don't think they are charging that much for the egg.

Hardees' chicken biscuit will always be the king of fast food breakfast!

Damn, completely forgot about that. Guess it has been awhile since I had one.

Here is something else that does bother me about fast food pricing. When I lived in Mississippi, I could get a bacon, egg, cheese biscuit at the McDonald's near me for $2-$2.20. In Ohio, it was well over $3. It really costs that much more for bacon there? Sausage and biscuits were still $1. I can never figure out regional pricing in some areas.

I could go for a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. Been months since I've been there.

                      Slamming your head against something.

Crushed my dome twice at work yesterday, then when I got home, smashed my head on the overhead above the stove/oven.

I think that one did a number on me. I'm still feeling it today. It hurt initially, didn't feel it later, ear started hurting late last night, woke up this morning ear still hurts and now I can re-feel where I bumped my head. I'll give it a day or two before I go to the doctor's. Of course, my old benefits ended this month while I sign up for new ones that won't kick in until January.

I get a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and two hash browns probably like...twice a month. It's a perfect hangover breakfast for me before work since there's one right next to the restaurant I work at.

As far as fast food goes, I've been spoiled to have a Jack's nearby always.

                          They have ridiculous breakfast.
