Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
They are probably technically city employees, but I know in NE Ohio, and it seems like it here, they will contract companies (and possibly individuals) to plow side streets and what not during winter. The city equipment tends to focus on the main streets and interstates. I'm guessing most of them get contracts by taking the lowest price. Not all of them were jerks, but I've seen my share over the years of people that probably had no business doing it. Probably hurts their pay if their employee took less money just to get a contract.Last edited by Redacted01; 12-27-2013, 07:56 PM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
When the topic of discussion is something you can't relate to. Like snow plows. I live where snow happens between zero and 3 times a year, and the schools shut down if there is enough snow to mess with the roads. (half inch, etc). or if it's something you can't relate to in general, like growing old, or fashionComment

When people use nick names to refer to players on certain sports teams and I have no idea who they are talking about. Especially when they use initials instead of typin go the name out. This is a big issue for me in the NBA forumsBuffalo Bills

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Three grinders...all involve driving.
1. I know they put signal lights on your $40,000.00 SUV and even that $20,000.00 Toyota. Try using them once in a while.
2. Do you really need to go from the right lane doing 45 MPH....to the middle lane(DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME) doing 45 MPH?
3.Wearing a hoodie while driving. You already SUCK at driving.....it's not helping that you are cutting off your peripheral vision while trying to(with limited success) operate a motor vehicle. You can put the hood down for the 15 minutes you are driving.
You can go back to trying to look like a tough guy when you reach your destination.
Thanks.
(as you can tell....I probably do way too much driving!)

You're spot on Knight.
Every single day I see someone not use their signal. Sometimes it doesn't really matter, other times if I wasn't paying attention, I could have rear ended them.
I really wish I could rear end these people and when they get all salty that I wrecked their car, I'd just shrug and say should've used your signal.
Doesn't work like that, but maybe it would teach them a lesson. It's the simplest of motions to hit that signal lever.
It just comes down to they don't care about other people on the road. There's some kind of microcosm of society in the way people drive. Signals are a necessary courtesy, and it just shows with how often people don't use them what kind of people are in this world. Inconsiderate and selfish to a degree where it's literally dangerous.
It's so unsurprising that a signal used only to warn OTHER drivers is so often unused.Last edited by slickdtc; 12-29-2013, 09:24 AM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
