You can do drive through dairuiri type drinks in Texas. I've stopped at one in Dallas before. What I hate is that liquor stores close at 9 and aren't open at all on Sundays.

Texas has (or had) a really weird law.

Years ago I was in Houston on a layover and I was flying from the east and landed locally after a three hour flight before noon.

I went to one of the bar/restaurants in the terminal because I had time to kill and had eaten on the flight so I just wanted to grab a beer before my flight to NM.

I was told that in order to be served a beer before noon in Texas you have to have food in front of you as well.

I just got nachos or something that they brought right out but they told me they couldn't pour a beer until food was in front of me.

Dallas must be different then. I never went there a lot even though it's like a 20 min drive from my house.

It grinds my gears that people took offense to it.

My thought are if one is going to have a "hey, look at me" type celebration, then one should not get upset if it is mocked.

It's definitely confusing and varies by town. I live in a dry county. One town has liqour stores and beer while my town can only sell beer. All depends on how the town votes.

Ah yes, one of the few items on the ballot where preachers and bootleggers vote together.

An actual bootlegger told me that once.

You know those Suncup juices you get from Hospitals or elementary school lunches? Those things are criminally too small to be satisfying. My mom randomly gave me a couple. Its like one sip and its done! What is this, juice for ants!?

Movie remakes/Leeching off a known story to make money

In past several years there have been way too many movies that are just the exact same movie as things released within past few decades, but more "modern".

And the worst thing...movies that use the name of well known stories/characters and the plot of their story basically has next to no relation to the actual story.

The most recent example...The Frankenstein movie coming out. From the commercial,it looks like it has NOTHING to do with the actual original story, they're just using the Frankenstein name to gather interest. This has happened so many times recently in so many movies, just desperate attempts by these companies to get as much interest as possible for the most uncreative movies.

I assume we have less creativity in movies for the same reason with games. They cost too much to make and they can't afford to take chances and fail.

Another thing about movies I hate...when the volume for like 30-40 seconds goes so low on it, and then it leads to an insanely loud moment.

It's not even a horror movie or anything I'm watching, just a regular movie. Volume intentionally goes so low, so I have to use my remote to increase volume cause I can't hear what they're saying, but the second after that quiet stuff is over, a real loud moment happens.
