I tried to watch it but I couldn't understand most of what the characters were saying. The accents were thick and they spoke too fast.

Yea, I'm with you. I gave it a fair shot (much longer than I wanted to) but couldn't get into it at all.

This was me as well. Those accents were next level. I felt like I was stressing each episode just to figure out the dialogue. I just couldn't follow it. Granted I guess I could have turned subtitles on. But ya.

I got a friend, who is a really smart guy (although you wouldn't think it) who fell for a huge scam a couple of years ago.

His computer locked up one day and it had this big message saying that the police and FBI were being contacted because he was looking at child pornography, which he wasn't and would never ever do. It said he had to go to the store and buy a certain kind of prepaid credit card and put $350 on it and send it to wherever it was to keep from getting arrested. He said no matter what he did he couldn't get rid of the screen.

So, like a dummy he got the card and sent it. I happen to stop by his house the next day and I'm like "You know this is a scam right?" he tried to convince me it wasn't and there was no way to fix the computer without paying the money. I walked over to the computer and hit control, alt, delete and it came up and I hit end task, boom gone. He couldn't believe it, he's like WTF?

Lucky for him he was able to get his money back. I told him if something like that happens again to call me first before doing something stupid.

A week later it happened to me, but I wasn't about to fall for it.

Do you mean payments, or repair?

If the latter, this is what I'm fearing with my car. I think it needs a new timing belt soon and there are some engine sounds that seem like a big warning with that, and I'm trying to wait up until November or so for a refresh on some of the new Hondas. I don't know if my car can last through that.

Either spend like $500-$900 for a new belt now and save myself from spending like $2000 in case it screws up the rest of my engine. Ugh, outside of gas and such I don't want to spend another dime on my car if I can help it.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Grammar/word correcting people are annoying, especially when you know exactly what the person means. My grammar isn't perfect by any means, but those little corrections annoy me so much.

Like people who have to emphasize something is called a saucer when I called it a plate. You know exactly what I mean when I say "pass the plate". And there's times I'll say "too much" instead of "too many" (ex "There's too much to choose from")

I don't mind grammar Nazis so long as you bring something else to the conversation, but if you are invalidating somebody's point because of a typo then you are just grasping at straws.

This one is funny as it reminds me of something that happened to me recently.

My mom and I were preparing a meal and I was already steaming broccoli as she wanted to also make cauliflower. Since I'm using the steamer, she says that she will just boil it instead. So she asks me to: "Get the big pan in the bottom-right cupboard."

Now, I'm no cook, and all I've done was steam it before so I trusted that she knew not only what she was doing, but what she was saying. In the bottom-right cupboard are two cooking equipment types: pans and pots. In my mind, "boiling cauliflower in a pot" makes much more sense than "in a pan." However, she said the word "pan," so I took her word for it and got out the big frying pan.

She sees it, laughs her head off, and proceeds to tease me about it. "Does that make sense?? No, the thing people cook pasta in." I then proceed to deflect by putting the blame on her, saying that she called a pot a pan.

I'd say I was justified in my confusion on the matter, and her specificity is crucial in a case like this. I wasn't trying to be a smartass about it at all, but it may have came off as either that or idiotic. Either way, I would say that although I should have known what she meant, I would have been in the right to correct her on these seemingly non-synonymous terms.

Had to put brakes on it, the squealing just kept getting louder. Only $400, but still frustrating.

Bully for whoever buys it, I guess.

I need a new autocorrect keyboard. It'll correct words that I mean to say, and leave in obvious mistakes.

I almost fell for one of those scams a few years ago. My stepmom's email got hacked and the guy must've just spammed to all her contacts an email about being on vacation in England and getting mugged, they took everything, phones, money, etc, and they were at some embassy and needed money to fly home. I responded to it that I could help but I'm not sure how, and the response to me just sounded weird, it wasn't the way my stepmom talks and that's when I finally got suspicious, emailed back with some questions for "her" that a stranger wouldn't know and the person never emailed back.

I was actually pretty close to setting up a western union transfer , was kinda annoyed with her and my Dad for not sending me a text or some sort of heads up, knowing I can be pretty naive at times

I don't get why people don't ask for IT help if they have no idea what they are doing. My brother has an IT related Masters, and I have a Bachelor's. Yet my mom who knows nothing about computers didn't consult us at all when buying a new laptop. It's a piece of crap. I was trying to fix it this weekend and noticed she had AVG uninstalled. I told her I uninstalled it and she asked why because she had paid for a year of it -_-
