To all of those that answered yes:

Would you still do it if these two things were guaranteed to happen?

1) You get to sign a professional contract for $1-2 million in the sport of your choice.

and


2) You get busted within the first year for using steroids by the league of your sport and have to face ridicule (humiliation) from your friends, family, teamates and fans whom you've intentionally (and selfishly) just let down publicly who will forever know that you are a cheater.

the 2nd is pretty exaggerated. I doubt many people outed as steroid users really care past the sport world. I highly doubt Barry Bonds has family and friends that quit talking to him because of it.

Shawn Merriman has also seemed to have done fine after it as well.

Yes...because I would have a million or two, invested (not frittered away on a dog fighting ring or six Bentley's), and could live off it for a long while.

If my family or friends were let down, then the presents I bought them would be back in my house or up on eBay. As for the fans, nobody likes the fans. Athletes in every sport respect the fans as much as a politician respects his/her constituents. So, in other words, they don't.

EDIT: I mean "most" athletes...you have some like John Elway who cater to the fans by opening up car dealerships all over the city.

No, I came to the conlusion long ago that you can make more money with alot less risk and effort in the business world then in the sports world.

How pissed would you be if you got in the greatest shape of your life using steroids then some asswipe cut blocks and blows out your knee.

Nope,

Now if I had to take medical steroids I would but in so far as taking steroids for cosmetic or performance enhancement i'd rather not take them. The risks far outweigh the rewards.
