          Re: Food

This is a "healthier" take on pizza.

Shaun's Healthy Meat & Vegetable Pizza

Most healthy recipes omit meat, not this one!
27 Minutes to Prepare and Cook

          Ingredients

Boboli's Thin Pizza crust (10 oz), 1 serving

Healthy Choice Pasta Sauce, 3/4 cup

Shady Brook Lean Ground Turkey, 1/5th of a total 20.8 ounce package (if you can find it some stores have Italian Seasoned Shady Brook Lean Ground Turkey, it is better for this recipe as it makes the meat taste more like sausage but if not that is fine)
3 cloves of Garlic, finely chopped
1/2 cup Green Peppers , chopped
5 large fresh Mushrooms (I use portabella sliced)
          1/2 cup Red Onions, chopped
          5 spanish Olives w/pimentos, sliced
Hormel Turkey Pepperoni - 17 slices
3/4 cups Kraft 2% Mozzarella Cheese
2 tablespoons of Mario black Olives

          Directions
          1. Chop up mushrooms, green peppers, and garlic how you prefer. I like larger slices but slice however you prefer! Start oven preheating at 450 when you begin this step.
          2. Cook ground turkey till about halfway done.
          3. Drain ground turkey
          4. Add mushrooms, green peppers and finely chopped garlic. Finish cooking ground turkey and vegetables until meat is complely brown and the vegetables are no longer crisp. Also, if you have some garlic salt you may want to add it here while it's cooking. When finished drain, if necessary, again.
          5. Add pasta sauce evenly on pizza crust (note - I add 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese here but for this recipe I omitted, it helps make the pizza taste "cheesier")
          6. Apply turkey pepperoni in an even fashion around the pizza crust (start in the center and work your way out in a clockwise fashion is how I do it).
          7. Add ground turkey, mushroom, garlic and green peppers in an even fashion around the pizza crust.
          8. Add red onions, green and black olives in an even fashion around the crust.
          9. Salt and pepper the pizza as you see fit.
          10. Add mozzarella cheese to pizza as evenly as you can.
          11. Cook in oven at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until cheese is melted (I usually cook for 12 minutes as it makes the crust a little crisper).

Serves 8 very generous slices (2 of them and you will probably be full unless you're a big eater) or 16 smaller "snack-size" slices. Great for a party with company, they won't even notice they are eating much healthier than a Domino's or Papa Johns!

Yep. Cause a pretty big outbreak in the Northeast late last year if I remember correctly.

                        Ecoli gives it zest though.

I tried out my version of ODogg's light Boboli pizza thing....

Got a whole wheat Boboli crust, some roasted garlic sauce from Barilla, a 2% fat four-cheese blend, some low-fat pepperoni, and sliced olives.

Came out fantastic! And very quick too. Looks like I've found something new Thanks !

This sounds good, going to make it tonight.

My kids like when I make them this.......

                              Ingredients:

                              Corn Tortillas

Ground Beef (I usually buy the lowest fat one, a little more but better)

                              Green bell peppers

Bag of shredded cheese (usually 4 cheeses mix)

                              Sour cream

                              This is what I do...

Put the ground beef into the pan then proceed to cook it up, a little bit in I ad the chopped up bell peppers.

I toast up the tortillas in a pan of hot oil (use whatever oil you prefer), once it is good to go I fold it in half (it will hold that way).

I have a large bowl ready lined with many paper towels to catch up excessive oil.

Then once I have a bowl full of them, the kids come and make their own tacos.

They put in the amount of beef and peppers into the shell, add the shredded cheese on top, then a little sour cream if you want some.

I love these damn things, the kids love whenever I make them, not to often but when I do it is a treat.

The whole thing takes me 30 mins tops to make, and you have enough to feed about 4 people easily, depending and the amount of ground beef and tortillas you fry up.

Okay, so I buy one these Burger King Bacon Double Homestyle Melt things yesterday. I actually really like it. In fact, I think it's the kind of thing I could eat once a month or so.

                                FIVE DOLLARS!

Yes, and it's not even big. I could eat three. So now, out of spite, I will not be getting another one. Ever.

                                I am disappointed in this.
