He would get his a$$ handed to him at that party if me and/or any of my friends were there. It's one thing to have a "racy" costume, but it's an entirely different animal when someone goes out of their way to be an ignorant prick.

For all the idiots in here who don't have a problem with the costume, just ask yourself one question.....How do you think the people who have lost a loved one in that horrible tragedy feel, especially if they saw someone like this parading themselves around as if they thought it was funny???

I figured Halloween costumes were the one exception to show how much your imagination can lack good taste and decency. Everyone found it funny to put their own spin on steve irwin costumes the year he died. I went to two parties where there were a couple of people dressed up as him, then south park did it, and then celebrities did it. This falls into the same category. I've seen costumes like priests with boners, mother teresa in hell, and dead soldiers. The VT shooting is on the top of the list for ideas for most offensive Halloween costumes this year. That's what people go for with these parties parties.

I thought it was funny with the Steve Irwin costumes.

People do OJ and Nicole. Why is stuff like this only funny years later?

People do this every year at Halloween, like people dressing up as Steve Irwin with a stingray barb through their chest last year.

Personally, I'd just ignore it. He obviously wants attention, making a big deal about it is doing just that.

As an aside, I think we can safely nip this 'he wants attention' thing in the bud. Of course he does - and so does everyone else who wears a costume to a party, or even goes to a party at all for that matter. No one attends parties with the intention of going unnoticed (spare me any rare exceptions).

Anyway, my initial reaction was that it is in poor taste, but I must admit this is a bit relative. If I imagine that the guy in question is, say, one of the funniest guys I know (you know the type, those people who make you laugh at almost everything they say and do) then all of a sudden I can imagine it being pretty funny. I think it's tasteless and decidedly unfunny in present context - i.e. some random dude in a picture on the internet - but I don't know that I can say it's inherently unfunny or offensive.

This reminds me of a football game that put a suspected and likely double murderer (with a knife) on a team called the assassins in which the mascot makes a stabbing motion with a knife...did this offend everyone as well? What about Steve Irwin costumes with Stingray barbs in the heart? Or people that dress up as Michael Jackson and kids or priests and kids or as someone pointed out Adolf Hitler or other famous killers?

Tasteless? Absolutely, but to each there own. I think everyone probably knows a guy that would probably do something like that. You either just shake your head and deal with it or cut ties.

I remember when Steve Irwin died, some celebrity dressed up as him with a ray stinger embedded in his body.

People here thought it was pretty funny, and I fail to see a difference between the two costumes.

Both are tasteless, but if a celebrity does it, it's funny and acceptable?
