Other than the temporal relation to the incident, is this any different than wearing an Adolph Hitler or Nazi costume?

I've seen people where 9/11 costumes like Double Eights referred to, is this any different?

I also didn't mean to solely apply that only applied to parties on the VT campus, the same logic would apply if you wore that to the house of someone you knew lost a loved in the shooting. But we don't know that this is the case.

At the end of the day this is a costume. That's all it is, we don't know he did this with the intention to mock the tragedy or belittle the victims in any way. Quite simply, this is a costume worn to a party. Some of you think I am being unreasonable by calling some of you uptight, so be it. But on the same hand it is okay to hit this person for what you perceive to be poor judgment?

Not hit but it is very poor taste and could hit home to some people. It isn't funny and just shouldn't be worn.

But I guess it didn't really bother me, it actually took me a minute to realize the point. I actually doubt most would at a random party. He wears that in Virginia, it's another story. Say he's in North Dakota, I doubt anyone even puts 2 and 2 together.

I figured Halloween costumes were the one exception to show how much your imagination can lack good taste and decency. Everyone found it funny to put their own spin on steve irwin costumes the year he died. I went to two parties where there were a couple of people dressed up as him, then south park did it, and then celebrities did it. This falls into the same category. I've seen costumes like priests with boners, mother teresa in hell, and dead soldiers. The VT shooting is on the top of the list for ideas for most offensive Halloween costumes this year. That's what people go for with these kind of parties.
