Re: Smoking/Chewing
Thats cool...good to hear. I actually ran a pretty big car dealership in Des Moines and had to travel once a month into South Dakota for General Manager meetings. I have been to Sioux Falls ( which I enjoyed alot ) a buddy of mine who played basketball at U of Mizzou plays or played with the semi pro team up there for awhile. I dated a girl from Huron, SD, man that town was in the middle of nowhere...it was like or 4 hours from SFalls

Re: Smoking/Chewing
Never smoked or dipped but I was hooked like crazy on caffeine and had the same troubles cutting back/quitting. First few weeks were hell cause I had headaches and I was craving a Coke so badly.
Anyways, like as people said...once you make it past the first few weeks, you should be free.
I wish you all the best.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

It was a great day today, felt awesome, but an equally horrible night. left arm is all tingly, stomach cramping, heartburn, can't sleep again....every time I go through a period like this, I think how stupid I was to do this crap for 13 years. I would be worried, but all that I am going through is very normal as far as withdrawal symptoms go.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Re: Smoking/Chewing
The easiest way to quit is to never start. I hope to God I can avoid having to smoke/drink/chew for most all of my life, if not all of it.

Re: Smoking/Chewing
Totally! I feel so great now that I know I've kicked it and don't want to do it again...I was smoking, but it's just good for your health in general. You don't smell like smoke or have to spit, etc...Plus if you're single smoking/dip really isn't "in" with the ladies nowadays lol.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Smoking/Chewing
I recently quit dipping Kodiak about 2 months ago.
I am 34 and had been dipping since I was 19. (started dipping while playing college baseball my freshman year)
It was not as hard as I thought it would be, my denist told me if I continued I would be losing my teeth within 10 years.
I dipped about a can every 3 or 4 days, I actually dipped the most while playing sports games on my 360. My biggest test will be once softball starts back up this spring.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Smoking/Chewing
Good luck with quitting man. It can be rough but it's definately worth it.
It will be 9 months next week since I quit dipping. I started about 10 years ago in high school and before quitting was using a can to a can and a half per day. I had it different though as the first month was a breeze. I had none of the withdraw symptoms you described or anything. It was the next couple of weeks to a month after that though that the cravings for me were the worst. I got by with sunflower seeds and chewing gum and once I made it though that 2nd month, I was good. The cravings subsided and the last few months have passed without any at all.Comment

I agree 100% It will be worth it. I am a little worried that maybe all the symptoms are not from quitting chewing, but something else. Each day it gets a little easier, and each day I feel a little better.....so who knows...but I still appreciate all the good lucks...etc...etc...etc...
Next up on the agenda, drop about 65 pounds..........then I will start to feel pretty good and healthy again...lolTwitch - bluengold34_osComment

Re: Smoking/Chewing
Goodluck man, my parents have been smoking my entire life and Ive always tried to get them to stop, so I have a grasp on how difficult it must be.I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.
