    My grandfather died

    He was 100. Just letting people know in case I stop posting for a few days, I'm going to New Orleans for the funeral. I found a couple of stuff on him, like I said in another thread he was a local legend in New Orleans because of his music

    The oldest traditional New Orleans jazz musician has died at age 100. Doc Paulin was a trumpeter and band leader who started performing the 1920s.

          Yeah he had a full life and has had alzheimers for awhile so while it's sad he's gone at least he isn't sick anymore.

              Sorry to hear that man and best of wishes to you and your family. At least he lived a full long life.. unfortunate it happened during the holidays.

                      Sorry to hear that man.

                      But like you said, at least he's not sick anymore. I had the same thing happened with my grandfather.

                                      His longevity was legend, performing in New Orleans since the 1920s. For many years he led Doc Paulin's Brass Band, one of the more popular jazz bands in the city

                                      Wow! Can you imagine. Playing jazz in New Orleans IN THE 1920's.

                                      I'm sure he had a wonderful life with his music. Would have loved to have sat and talked to him about all that history that he saw. RIP.

                                                      sorry to hear that. Sounds like he lived a good full life. 100 years, amazing all the different things he has lived through and witnessed.
