I know what I'm thankful for today.
Among countless other things, I finally got a full article into the Boston Globe. I've been writing sports for papers for about 4 years, and I got a job with the Globe at the beginning of the school year (my freshman year in college.) I've written several pieces for the Globe, including a Sectional Final Volleyball match, but today I had more or less free reign and was assigned to cover the number one football team in the state. I got pretty excited and surpasses my word limit so I got some good chunks taken out and the editors simplified it a bit, but I'm pumped none the less. Thanks for letting me rantTags: None -

Awesome news. Keep writing."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Do you have an online link to the article?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
