    Fights

Please tell me why when guys get together at a party with alcohol present there will always be a fight. I've been in three this semester protecting my boys and I am not used to it. My freshman year on campus wasn't so bad but right now it seems like there seems to be one per weekend I see, whether I am involved or not. Anyone else have to deal with these kinds of things or am I just gettin unlucky? Don't get me wrong, I love a good fight, but not when I am trying to party.

I feel like I have two choices, stop partying or deal with it. I just feel like one time someone will seriously get hurt over something stupid. Like the fight tonight over a guy telling my friend not to look at him while he plays beer pong, what the hell is that?

I am just venting, sorry for the rambling.

Why does alcohol lead to fights? Is this a rhetorical question?

Seems to always be around when it happens. Then again alcohol always seems to be around in college.

And let my friend get his *** kicked for no reason? I think not.

My friends used to be the same way back sophomore year here. Seemed every week we'd end up having a problem with someone at their house and almost getting into fights. Always over stupid **** too, like you said, I can't even remember why most of them started. Nothing ever really came of it, usually just some pushing and shoving. Rarely ever punches. Hasn't happened lately, I guess we've cooled down or matured though I doubt it sometimes.

Go party at Radford. Less fights than tech. More STD's but less fights.

Yeah, the last 2 times now it has come to punches though. It seems like its always a little dude running his mouth, but that little dude always has bigger friends.

Drinking at parties leads to one of two things. Fighting or another F word that can't be said here.

Grow up, maybe? Smoke weed and sing "Kumbaya" around a campfire? Stop hanging around a-holes?

                            Re: Fights

Doesn't happen much here. I've never been in a fight in college, or even really witnessed one. I can think of maybe 2-3 times when I saw people getting close to fighting.

I'm sure it happens sometimes, I know first day of school last year some kids got stabbed. Occasionally someone will show up in the police log with an assault charge. But it's not a lot.

I saw way more fights during middle school and high school that didn't involve alcohol than fights in college that did. So I think a lot of it is growing up and maturing. I know alcohol doesn't help the situation but still...
