actually, the xboxes in question had faulty power supplies. The new cord would just pop to keep it from catching fire. The cords had nothing to do with it, and they found it cheaper to give out the 1980's hair dryer cords for free than a full recall or replacement plan like they do with the 360's now.I actually do remember the original Xbox's having faulty power cords that could spark/catch fire when plugged into the wall. I just can't fathom how that would happen when it was unplugged from the wall though.
Anyhow, it was on certain models and MS sent out free power cords to those who had that model of Xbox. Very bad manufacturing error on MS's part.Comment
