my little brother got one last Christmas and he is 7.

Not sure when I will give my daughter one, she is 6, but I don't know...

Don't know if your arrangements are similar to mine or not. But it is so comforting to know if anything happens you can just call her.

I have my daughter keep hers off during school hours. She knows that when schools out, the first thing she needs to do is turn on her phone.

How is it a leash? if you don't want to be bothered turn it on silent or turn it off. I would hate for something to happen and not have a phone to use.

I think he meant leash as in terms of "my gf can reach me at anytime and if I dont answer or call back within X amount of minutes no for me tonight"

Actually he was 7 last year at the time, he is 8 1/2 now. Birthday is July so they are two and half years apart, but still. yeah mom waited a long time to have another one.

Yeah I need to think about. I mean she doesn't have numbers where she could call someone or something and it would be if I had to get in touch with her or vice versa. I might look into it. LOL she asked for one already.

I've got one, wish I didn't sometimes like others said. Doesn't mean I answer it all the time.

FTW! I just don't answer if I can't talk or whatnot. I don't talk while i'm in the store...

I love my phone though, I'm so used to always being able to call if needed....just turn your phone off (or turn off the ringer) when you want privacy or private time.

I will say that I'd hate to have a work supplied cell phone. I would not want to be on call 24 hours.

There is a guy that lives down the hall from me that doesn't have one. Its pretty amazing that he can get anything done. lol.

My wife keeps one in the car for emergency use only(which means we never use it) I think they are annoying little devices and the world got along fine before they were ever invented. I've had too many near accidents on the road from some bonehead playing with their cell phone than I care to think about. If you like cell phones,that's good and power to you. Just use your head when driving-I'm sure you wouldn't want to live with the guilt for the rest of your life if you killed someone because of a phone call.

Nope. I don't own one, either. I work at home and use my wife's when I'm out solo or with her.

No point in me owning one since I'm home most of the time or have access to one when I'm out. It would be a total waste of money.

I own a cell phone, but I hate cell phones. I hate people driving while talking and not paying any attention to the road. I hate people talking on them in movie theaters, restaurants, ball games (nothing better than calling your friend in the other section to say, look at me and wave), etc.

Not only do I not know someone without a cell phone, I don't know anybody who doesn't text on it either regularly
