Emotrol is an anti puking medicine I give my son, and it works pretty well for him. My fiance has actually used it as well, and it helps her, though she usually needs a couple of doses before it takes hold.

Also, drink pedialite. Its better for you than gatorade, from what I hear.

I feel ya man. I've had the flu or something for the last week or so and it's just killing me. Haven't even felt well enough to get on OS much at all.

I think I've averaged about 12 hours of sleep a night for the last week and even that hasn't felt like enough. I'm just hoping it goes away before next week as I'm going out of town.

The bile stuff is the nastiest stuff ever!I still shutter from its taste.Ive been told that drinking gatorade and water helps. drinking as much gatorade as possible and drink half of that amount in water as well. It needs to be diluted.

Yep, my wife brought home a bottle of Gatorade from grocery shopping Monday morning, and it was all I could keep down besides water. It saved me Monday.

I've had it this week, too. SUCKS like a Hoover.

Try to stay hydrated -- it's vital. Drink whatever liquids will stay down. I kept NOTHING down for a 24-hour period from midnight Sunday to midnight Monday. Puked at least a dozen times, with the final hurls tossing nothing but stomach bile.

Otherwise, get sleep and try to eat very bland food to keep your strength. And stay hydrated. Sipping Coke sometimes helps, as doctors used to prescribe coke syrup to ease sore stomachs back in the day. But caffeine-free Coke would be best, since caffeine dehydrates.

Time is your friend. It's viral, so there's really nothing you can take to accelerate the illness leaving your body. Tylenol can help ease the aches, though.

Stay hydrated. Have I said that before?

Not much more you can do than hydrate, take tylenol or ibuprofin (or Nyquil to help you sleep)...You'll feel like ish, but medicine doesn't actually help you get better (most of the time). It just masks the symptoms. I just try and pass out for a week if I can (or lean on dayquil if I have to be productive).

I know when I get nausea I sleep curl up with a pillow between my legs. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it does for me. Also, go to the Doctor and get nausea medicine. I take phenergan. I think that is how you spell it.

I've had the stomach flu since around 1:00 am this morning and this thing literally tore my stomach up last night, not allowing me to get any sleep. Then during the day today it seemed to have subsided and now here tonight this crap is just going rambo on my *** again. I decided to go ahead and vomit which was the end result from the nausea. I feel a little better, but boy does anyone have any good advice on getting this thing taken care of sooner than later?

Happened to me since New Years Even and I'm still not able to keep anything down besides water. No nausea but its not fun coming out either way.


How were you after day 3 candy?

I fell bad for not going in to work after this long weekend but i can't be at work like this.

I fell bad for not going in to work after this long weekend but i can't be at work like this.

KDRE, that sucks man......by day 3 I was feeling a bit better, but it nearly took a full 5 days till I felt good again.

I hope you have a speedier recovery.

I spent my entire New Years day in bed, and all morning sleep. Still can't keep anything down but water.

There is definitely a serious bug going around.

One thing i'm thankful for is that I didn't get it as bad as some of the stories i've heard.

BTW, didn't see it mentioned here when the thread was going on but the BRAT diet is one thing for food.


Bananas, Rice, Apples and Toast.

I did this once last time I got sick, and it seemed to keep the stomach calm.

I also could eat oatmeal and powerade.
