BTW, didn't see it mentioned here when the thread was going on but the BRAT diet is one thing for food.

    Bananas, Rice, Apples and Toast.

I did this once last time I got sick, and it seemed to keep the stomach calm.

I also could eat oatmeal and powerade.
I think someone might have mentioned the BRAT, but can't remember. Also dry toast helped me a lot. Tea seemed to tear up my stomach even more.

Its not the vomiting or the weakness that is so bad, the worst symptom is the aches especially in the back that is often present with the Flu or stomach virus. Very unpleasant.
You will likely dehydrate and lose body weight even if you can drink some water. The problem is you cannot drink enough water to replace the fluids lost in vomiting.

Agreed lighting those back aches are bad. That's when I felt the abosolute worst.

I remember using 7-up as a kid though, and It never tore up my stomach. Ginger Ale the same, but no kind of soda though.

caffeine is one of the worst things to intake when you have the stomach flu. Even nausea.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

7-up is soda in my opinion. I usually use 7-up or Sprite. If it's not too bad sometimes Coke or Pepsi works.
