Red is good, Black is better. Never had Gold. I'd love to try Green and Blue, but they're even tougher to find than Gold. Blue is mighty pricey, too.

Yeah it's not that great. First time in Vegas years back I had a pretty good night and asked this waitress for some Johnny Black and she said "all we have is Blue"....feeling a lil nice already I was just like "whatever"...tastes smoother than Black but nothing to noticeable

I used to like Rolling Rock years back but I havent drank beer in such a long time....moved on to Crown and havent looked back

It's not overrated to me because I don't get as bad a hangover as I do from the other vodka brands like Smirnoff, Absolut, etc. To each their own my friend.

Taste tests are overrated as well. I also saw a taste test where people picked NY city tap water as tasting better than bottled water. It doesn't mean I'm going to start drinking tap water over bottled water.

Also, good call on the Boddington's, whoever mentioned it. I prefer it to Guinness, come to think of it.

I don't know what females you hang out with that drink straight whiskey but I'd start giving cautionary package checks from time to time just to be sure.

SoCo is def not whiskey.

Drank it once in HS, talk about one hell of a hangover. Just the taste of it makes me feel ill.

Sadly in college, due to money limitations, I have to stick to the aristocrat line of alcohol. That stuff is awful. I guarantee they just bottle rubbing alcohol because the vodka tastes just as nasty as the gin, which in turn taste just as nasty as the "tequila".

Bleh.

I really love Maker's Mark when I just want some bourbon and don't want to break the bank on Baker's. I'm a dark liquor man during the winter months, so I've been enjoying my share of Hennessey, Maxim's XO Cognac (GREAT buy, I like it more than Hennessey), and various whiskeys/bourbons/scotches. I've never had the pleasure of Lephroaig but I saw some at a restaurant earlier today and it reminded me to pick some up and give it a try.

I've been on a wine kick lately though. I just buy 2-3 random bottles and go to it. Bought some bubbly a few days ago and made some pomegranate-blueberry Bellini-style drinks for a late breakfast that turned out pretty damn good. Bellinis are supposed to be made with peach puree/nectar, but the pomegranate-blueberry juice worked surprisingly well.

I also recently bought a black cherry lambic beer, which was interesting. Not something that I'd drink on a regular basis (too sweet), but I can definitely see the appeal -- I want to try the Pear and/or the Black Currant variety to see how they taste. And Belgium is truly God's Country when it comes to beer -- Trappist brews are the best.

I haven't had SoCo in about 2 or 3 years. I only remember 80 and 100 proof. At least that's what they were out here in WA. I drank a lot of it and Cap'n Mo in college, and remember having a fifth of Mo for good night (70 proof), and having a memorable night with the 80 proof SoCo, and not remembering the night with the 100 proof SoCo.

I bought a buddy of mine a bottle of Laphroaig for giving me a killer, almost-new pair of Atomic skis and bindings. Brought it to him last night, and we each had two glasses.

Lord, that is nectar from the god of scotch. It's $46 per bottle but worth every penny!

Laphroaig has a unique, smoky, peaty aftertaste that's different from other popular premium single malts like Glenlivet, Glenfiddich and the Macallan. That's why I dig Laphroaig so much.

All the vodka talk has me ready to head for the toilet. I used to drink vodka quite often with friends. However, one night, I had 5 or 6 beers before my friend showed up with a bottle of lemon flavored Smirnoff vodka. Well, he owed me money anyways, so I told him to just let me drink it with him. Well, he only had a little bit, and I kept drinking it.

Needless to say, the sole thing I remember about that night is hanging over the toilet, and the next thing I knew, I was awake with a hardcore lemon taste in my mouth, feeling like absolute balls.

Since then, I have lost appreciation for anything lemon flavored, and pretty much any vodka. Luckily, for liquor variety, all I drink nowadays is Crown Royal, which isn't too often due to the price.
