 Re: Budwieser: Not all that

Well guess what I was able to find? With advice of the good people in this thread I picked up a "4" pack of Boddingtons Pub Ale in the yellow can Gotta say it's got a pretty good taste to it. Sorta creamy but mild and tasty enough. Good call people on the Bod. They didn't have any Dogfish head but I was able to strike gold with this. I guess that thing clanking around inside the can is the "pressurized insert" Don't tamper with it they say. Wonder why Gotta say it's got a pretty good taste to it. Re: Budwieser: Not all that

I'm hoping to be able to pick up either some Yuengling's or Boddington's tomorrow, along with a nice little selection of hard alcohol.

I'm going all-out this weekend...or as all-out as my budget will allow. Don't know why, but I just feel like I want to. May even break the bank for a little bottle of Scotch, just to have some. I haven't quite decided yet. I'm headed to the liquor store with a relative tomorrow to walk around and bask in the glory of it all. Comment

 Re: Budwieser: Not all that

I thought Boddington was ok when I tried it, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I was going to. I mostly bought it because I had recently had a Wexford Irish Cream Ale and those come in a similar can with the widget inside and I thought it was fantastic. I was hoping Boddington would be similar since I couldn't find Wexford, but, it wasn't.

It wasn't bad, but I gotta keep looking for that Wexford . . .Comment

 Re: Budwieser: Not all that

I bought some Dogfish Head the other night after reading some recommendations in this thread. I bought their IPA in the green box, it was okay but very fruity for an IPA. Not really my cup of tea. It reminded me of a microbrewery from Vermont.

Do they offer any dark beers that I should try?

EDIT: It was the 60 minute IPA I had. The IBA looks more up my alley but I didn't see it at the packy. I'll have to try another one, Dogfish Head isn't overly common in CT.Last edited by ehh; 01-11-2008, 10:05 AM."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

 Re: Budwieser: Not all that

Well I gotta go get some more Boddingtons. I killed it off. Home today and knocked off my last pint. lol I actually said pint like a brit. lol
Yeah, I kinda like this beer alot. I'm going to see if they got anymore of the dogfish head in. It must really be good stuff since they sold out of it. They had some other stuff there but being I didn't get the "ok" from here I'll refrain from trying those..... naw... I'm going to try it all eventually.Comment

 Re: Budwieser: Not all that

If you get Dogfish, the 90 is a lot better than the 60.

 EDIT:

They didn't have any good beers, so I just went with some cheap stuff to have around to play games with. Got some 100 proof SoCo (forgot the stuff was 50% abv) and some Baileys to make some Irish Car Bombs withLast edited by Beantown; 01-12-2008, 01:23 AM.Comment

I concur on what Longhorn said, the 90 minute being better. IMO one of the best IPAs in the land. I'm not sure what you're looking for when you say dark beers (other than color), but their India Brown Ale is really good as well.Comment

 Re: Budwieser: Not all that

I've been to my place twice now looking for the Dogfish Head and they still don't have it in. Guy seemed kinda ticked that it wasn't in also. Think it sells pretty good and someone forgot to put the order in. Had to come away with Boddingtons twice now. That Bod is kinda sneaky strong. I put two pints down and was in need of some water.Comment

 Re: Budwieser: Not all that

Finally scored some Dogfish Head fellas today. I had gave up when I kept going back and they were out. Well today I decided to go for some other things and low and behold Dogfish Head was in the case!!! I nabbed two 90 minute four packs. Pretty strong stuff. Maybe just a bit sweeter than I like but it's really a great tasting beer. Don't think it's gonna take alot to get a buzz with this stuff. lol. But I'm just leisurely sipping drinking it.Comment
