If I'm looking for a game beer...it's Miller Lite.

If I'm sipping on something...usually Blue Moon, a version of Sam's or a Magic Hat.

Other than that...it's rum.

Bud isn't beer.

Guinness is a beer. Just about every American "beer" is put to absolute shame by it.

Which leads me to ask - what's with American's and "light" beer? Bud Light, Miller Light, Coors Light, etc, etc - it's just so nasty. I don't get the whole obsession with it.

Light beer = fewer calories = less filling = more drinking.

I don't drink to get drunk. I drink because it tastes good and is satisfying. Guinness tastes great. Those light beers taste like cold piss to me.

Mind you, I probably average a beer every two months. I don't drink much... and when I do, like I said, it's because I like the taste. Not because I want to drink lots and get drunk or anything like that.

Budweiser is a good lager. I ain't got not problems with it. Some days is a Bud day, some a Killian's, some a Wexford Cream Ale.

On light beer. Uh light beer was originally made for women and as a "diet" beer. The marketing campaigns with former American football players like Dick Butkis or Miller lite etc....made it the most popular American beer.

I prefer stuff with a little more taste than Natural light and Miller Lite. Not that all light beer is crap or American lagers more generally.

I guess in a way I see it as American's fascination with crap. We buy crappy food, furniture, appliances with regularity. I think Americans will gladly give up perceived expense for premium items for cheaper items. Like fast food burgers. No way in hell is a Big Mac anywhere close in taste to getting some ground beef and frying my own. It takes the same amount of time for people drive to the fast food joint as it would to make it at home with far greater rewards.
