Re: Raleigh/Durham Check In
There's actually alot of good cities in the general area. An hour and a half isn't bad at all. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a Duke-Carolina game in at some point.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

Or NC State Carolina. The RBC Center is nice.
You will also definately want to go to a 'canes game. Talk about fun.
That's the best part about the triangle. No better place when it comes to college basektball and a great sports area in general.
Plus Eastern NC bbq.Last edited by VTPack919; 01-09-2008, 11:13 PM.YNWAComment

Re: Raleigh/Durham Check In
I still don't know where I'll live. I'd like to live close to the facility and then drive into Raleigh for entertainment etc. But, I've heard that there aren't many places to stay in Roxboro so I may have to either live in Raleigh or Durham...whichever is closer to Roxboro.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! Re: Raleigh/Durham Check In
Plenty of good sports bars in the area... Rudino's, Carolina Ale House, Blinco's. There's a place called Damon's across from the RBC Center, which is supposed to have awesome food, but I've never been there. I never venture into Glenwood South too much, which is supposed to be THE jumpoff area for Raleigh, but a few other transplants that I've spoken to have said that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. But these folks were from areas like NY and DC, where stuff is generally poppin 24-7.
A lot of folks are moving to outer areas around here, like Clayton, Apex, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Morrisville, so you might want to look at those areas too, particularly Morrisville and Apex, as it might be closer to your job.Comment

Re: Raleigh/Durham Check In
I will be moving to the Wake County area after my last campus semester at UW-Platteville. I will be student teaching in fall 08! Anyone heard of the three possible schools that I will be assigned to? Apex, Cary, or Leesville Road. I am really looking forward to moving and getting out of Wisconsin. I am so sick of Wisconsin winters.

Leesville Road isn't that far from me, like 5-10 minutes away.Comment
