Maybe you are right, but I still think it would make it even harder to hear with having something in your ears as appose to just having loud music playing.

I can still hear myself snap my fingers when I have my ipod on, why are you under the impression that I wouldn't be able to hear a siren?

With that said, I don't listen to my ipod in the car. Hell, I don't even know where my ipod is.
Actually it is. Any kind of ear piece blocks of volume, and two another thing to play around with while driving. More risk of getting into a accident. And most people would probably drive with the volume to max volume.

Its illegal over here and I agree with it.

Yep. People already have trouble walking right without headphones on their ears. Don't even get me started on the ones lost in another world listening to Britney Spears shriek or The Stripes rock it out on their guitars while walking. Those people are clueless.

I think all drivers should take a walking test. If you can't walk then you fail at life and must stay home. The streets will be a lot safer too.

Yet another reason I'm glad that I don't live in New York. I haven't seen anyone with trouble walking while listening to music.

I tried it once because they weren't playing what I wanted on the radio. I didn't get pulled over or anything, but I went out and got an FM transmitter for it and that worked pretty well until I got XM for Christmas.

I think when you live in a place with 8 million people you tend to increase the likelihood that idiots are walking alongside you. And then you give those idiots two earpieces that block out most sound around them and they start acting like they are the only people on the street.

You're objecting to it because you probably know you'd fail it.
