Well, I'm glad it wasn't a big deal.

This never happened in my time at school. Never even thought it was something that really happened anywhere but tv. Guess I was wrong.

When I was in high school we had one major bomb threat. In my city there were four main high schools. I remember that after we were taken outside, we all were getting calls and texts from people at the three other schools saying they heard that a bomb had exploded and were we OK, or that there had been a shooting. Apparently there was even a rumor that terrorists had taken over our school. It added some humor to the situation.
Agreed. When it happened, I swear about half of the people left the school right away. I was sitting in my final class with about 10 people left of about 30, haha. It was fine, though, since we didn't have to do any work!

Schools suck nowadays. They really do. I know because I go to one and it seems like it's a zoo everyday...

          That's terrible.

I went to a highschool with no metal detectors. Nobody checking your bags or pockets. Door wide open (there was always at least two heads of a department standing there to greet everyone but I'm sure they were just making sure that students and not random people walked in) leading to our lockers and classrooms.

Never an issue. And this was in the South Bronx right across the street from a popular Bloods hangout.

And this is why it's still my belief that if you don't bother people looking for trouble they won't bother you.

Anyway, my real point is that I went to a school that had almost no security and never had a problem. While I see all of this security popping up all over the country and there's something going on in a school at least once a month or two months. It's sad.

I wish everyone was as fortunate as I was. Really.

Yeah, we get about 1 a year. Last year it was all the rage though, as we had like 3 in a week. Another school got like 5 or 6 last year. And even the 4th-6th grade school got to join in on the fun, as they got a threat as well.

I remember they caught like 3 kids from my school. None of it was serious. That's kind of scary though. Most of the kids don't take these things serious... but what if it ever happens? None of the kids will take it seriously and then it is. Of course, the police and stuff do and must take them seriously.

I still think they should send us home after these things though. 2, 3 hours out of the day screws up the whole day. Why make us stay, seriously?

I won't be surprised if we are doing this again sometime next week. We have no school already monday, so they might wait until the week after. Hopefully they have already drawn up a new plan to get us out of wherever we evacuate to.

No, the day off of school is a teacher work day or something. Just a random day off

Yeah, and then when the school explodes, you will see the biggest lawsuit ever be placed against the school.

Oh. I wondered why you would get an extra day off for it after a weekend.

We had a bomb threat last year, and we just kinda went on lockdown, while the school searched, and then the parents and buses came. I just hitched a ride with one of my friends.

The worst was in my 8th grade year we had a massacre threat. Someone wrote on the walls that on a certain day at a certain time all the christians at the school were going to die. Needless to say they brought in metal dectectors. Honestly it was pretty fun no one showed up for school so I pretty much stayed in the gym and played basketball all day.

Everyone that calls in bomb threats are just trying to get out of a test or something.

Luckily, my school has no metal detectors...yet. The day the happens hopefully is after I graduate. Of course, with our sucky trailers at my school that are outside, we really could not have them. Schools waste so much money on stupid stuff. I know my school has the money not to have to put 25 classrooms in trailers, but they do that anyways...

We had one, but the principal wouldn't tell us what it was, we found out from teachers. They herded us outside to the football field and wouldn't let us call anyone and tell them what was going on and made us go back in 30 minutes later.
