    My Dad

Yesterday morning my dad had an accident at our farm and was run over by a tractor. He has a dislocated shoulder and 7 broken ribs. So far all tests for internal bleeding have been negative. We left the hospital around 9:30 pm last night and he was resting as comfortably as he could. He was in good spirits. It was a scary night as I've already lost my mom and I'm no where near ready to lose my dad. Of course I'll never be ready...
    Thanks for "listening"...

Wow man, your dad's in my thoughts and prayers! Dude must be Superman or something, to get run over by a damn tractor and only break some bones. Sounds like he'll be ok over time though, that's great!

Man, dude, that's rough. I hope your father recovers quickly.

My father-in-law and brother-in-law are dairy farmers. Farming is among the toughest, most noble and least-appreciated professions in the world.

Think about it, fellas: Back-breaking work in all kinds of weather for moderate pay at best, and not a single day off. My father-in-law and brother-in-law have to milk 365 days per year. The cows don't take holidays.

God bless every farmer, including your dad.

                Take care,

Amazing that he didn't have internal bleeding at all. I hope for a speedy and full recovery.

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. It used to be a dairy farm that eventually turned into just a "hay farm". I grew up making hay during the summer. Not a glorious job but it was fun as much as it was hard work. He spent 20 years as a State trooper and 8 years an Sheriff. The farm while at the time of purchase was nice, it's just too much for him to take care off. he is like my grandparents when they were alive in that if "he ain't working he's dying." type of mentality. We're going to be sitting him down AGAIN and try to convince heim it's time to enjoy life, travel etc. He's finacially set for retirement so it's not that he can't do it.

                            Again thanks for the thoughts.
