    Re: Wisdom Teeth

It wasn't bad at all. I did wake up when they were cutting the last tooth out, but I was so numb, I could only tell there were fingers in my mouth.

I didn't bleed at all after the procedure, unlike most people. I got some good drugs, but more often than not, the only thing I needed to kill what little pain I had was some aspirin. The only thing that sucked for me was the swelling.

I also woke up in the middle of the procedure but they knocked me back out again.

Ha, they started to talk to me! Like I was in the right state of mind or physically able to respond...

I still have my wisdom teeth, I hope they never have to come out. Sounds painful, and I've never had any kind of dental work to compare it too, so I hope it just stays that way.

I had my tops taken out one summer, then the bottom two the next summer. First time they knocked me out completely, second time just a local anesthetic.

It wasn't bad at all after a few hours. I was eating popcorn chicken that night after having the surgery done at 8am.

              Re: Wisdom Teeth

I chose not to get knocked out. General anesthesia makes me puke when I'm waking up, and I figured puking after having 4 teeth pulled was a bad idea.

It was kinda cool being awake! They use massive scary needles to numb you. After 2 teeth I could still feel them digging around, so they had to stop and give me more shots. Afterwards I was fine, I was back and running in 3-4 days, and didn't have that much pain. Just make sure not to chew while numb, you may turn your tongue into hamburger and not even know it.

I had all 4 of mine taken out, it's not so bad.

The worst part was waking up, the anesthesia made me sick.

I got all four of mine out my senior year in High School.

I got the laughing gas, and it was a blast. My arm felt like it was floating away for some reason; it was cool. I also felt no pain throughout the procedure, or even afterwards. The only problem I had was that the painkillers they prescribed me made me dizzy when I would stand up.

Well I'm back to kind of normal. Not too painful, except I had a sleep-induced breakdown about the gauze and my gag reflex. The bleeding's stopped it seems, and I'm getting back to semi normal.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. The anesthesia was AWESOME. They kept talking to me when I had the laughing gas on, and I would have the most delayed reaction. Looking back on it... it was hilarious.

I'd offer you something else but you said you had a heavy gag reflex.

The worst part about my wisdom teeth getting removed was afterwards, but it was my own fault. My mouth stopped bleeding a couple hours later, and I felt pretty good to go for dinner. My mouth wasn't ready for pasta and my mouth was bleeding hardcore for the next hour or so. Depending on how complex your surgery is, I would say don't rush back to normal food too quickly, or maybe I was just way too stupid to go back as early as I did.

Vanilla milkshake with a mix of blood... ah the memories.

The worse part isn't over yet though GIGGAS, make sure you keep extra clean so you don't get a infection and get dry socket! I didn't get it but people that got it told me it terrible pain.

I'm doing th ebest I can. I can't really do anything today about cleanliness cause I can't use the saline solution (which I'm sure is just going to be a GAS) until 8 am tomorrow I believe.

Yeah, first day you can't brush or anything like that. As long as you eat nothing crazy you'll fine. Also rinsing with that herbal tea helps as well.
