    Re: Shaving discussion

I usually shave every couple of days when I'm back home, when I'm at school (when away from my girlfriend) I can go weeks or so without shaving. I don't like to shave. My hair grows pretty fast and it gets annoying.

I just use trimmers or clippers. Works like a charm for me.

This really is the best advice. I used to have huge problems with my skin getting irritated from shaving, since I started shaving in the shower it has completely eliminated any skin problems that I used to get.

Yeah, I don't even use shaving cream and shaving in the shower works perfectly.

But nothing in the world is better than a real shave with hot lather (shaving brush and the whole kit), a high-quality razor, and really nice shaving cream/soap... I've been wanting to buy a shaving kit for a long time now and have never done it -- nothing beats a barber shop shave.

                Re: Shaving discussion

Shaving sucks. I hate it. I'm usually a once or twice a week shaver, especially since good replacement razors are so expensive. I'm glad I work at a job that it doesn't require me to be "clean-shaven" at all times.

Who's gone the longest without shaving at all? I went 6 months when I was fishing in Alaska a couple years ago. If I can find a picture, I'll post it.

I have to shave because the hair on the right side of my face grows in faster than the hair on the left side...sucks.

I shave with an electric every few days. If I forget or don't do it over a long break from school I have to because we can't have beards. I cannot shave with an electric if it gets to long so I hafe to use manual. 5 blades, it's awesome

Bingo, excellent advice and you took it right out of my mouth. I never have skin irritation from using razors, but I shave when I am in the shower. I make sure that I have been in the shower for a good 5-10 minutes before shaving, the steam/heat help with softening up the skin.

Technically, I need to shave everyday.....but I tend to shave every few days. I'm one of those guys that can shave in the morning and have 5 'O Clock shadow by late afternoon. I'm a werewolf, what you gonna do. LOL!

                        Re: Shaving discussion

I have a Panasonic wet/dry razor I got recently that I'm really liking. I do shave after a shower and that helps, but i'll have to check into a shower mirror, that'd be even better.

I usually shave every 3 days though...the somewhat scruffy look isn't horrible and I'd rather not shave every day if I can avoid it.

Everytime I shave my face itches like hell when the hair grows back in, which is why I hate shaving.

Here's a hint about shaving to people with curly hair. Just use the trimmer on an electric razor. You wont have any skin issues and shaving won't be so annoying.

I haven't shaved in like, six weeks or so.

                              This beard is massive.

BTW, this thread reminds me of my "*** hair" thread.

It really is a good idea to shave in the shower. I do find it to be a closer shave than in the sink. Another reason to shave in the shower is I always cut myself shaving outside the shower. the water from the shower helps it stop bleeding faster(if it bleeds at all).
