See my razor burn is on my neck and when I go to spalsh cold water etc.. I end up touching my neck because it's hard to splash it and I think I make it worse. I dunno too much!

I just get razor burn on my neck, nowhere else.

I shave in the shower without a mirror, once you do it a lot its easy.

Yeah, in the shower with Mach 3, shaving gel, and hot hot water going.

when that set up is not available I use a wash cloth or towel, soak in really hot water and let it sit on your face. any way to get some heat to open up the pores helps limit irritation.

Its odd, I had to start shaving fairly early, 13 1/2 years old. Could have held out, but jr high football coaches had a no facial hair policy. My hair is blond, and my beard is a little darker but still blond.
I would have thought I needed to shave every day, but after over 20 years of shaving I still only need to every other day to even every three days. If I let it grow it doesn't look that heavy for a good two to three weeks, but then I turn into Hamish from Braveheat and get the good mustache over the lip, and cheek and neck hair. I guess slow and steady wins the race.

I have a chin beard, so I need to shave around it, and it's no problem in the shower with the shower mirror.

My shower mirror is so old -- close to 20 years old -- that the anti-fog coating has long since worn off. But I just smear a dab of shampoo on the mirror and then rinse it, and the fog stays away beautifully.

I dunno, I'm in the same ballpark as you. If I don't do the cold water trick I'll get razor burn on my neck and never on my face (I've never gotten it on my face).

Try taking a wash cloth and running it under freezing cold water and then pressing it against your neck.

Hmm... good advice. I may go back to shaving with a razor and trying this.

I think I've been shaving with an electric beard trimmer for about 6 years now to avoid those damn bumps. Never get a nice close shave though.

So I got a shower mirror today and man it is WONDERFUL! I wanted to try without shaving cream and even with my sensitive skin it worked nice after being in the shower. How did I go so long without?

I'm black. I shave every 2 days. I soap my face up before hand to get all of the oils out of my pores so I can get a close shave. Wash that off and when my face dries I use:

When I think of people shaving in the shower, it reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Kramer did everything in the shower (cooking and washing dishes etc.)

Lol, funny thread.

I work from home doing graphic design and 3d animations, video editing, etc... so unless I am meeting with clients or going out for something special, I rarely shave, like every 2 or 3 weeks lol, ...with a razor...

I have an electric razor, but even if I wait a week to shave, the whiskers are too long, and get pulled by the razor.
