Finding a part time job is impossible. I've been looking since I was 16 and still haven't gotten anything. I've applied to 9 places in the last 2 weeks (all were hiring) and didn't get a single call back.

I had been looking since February, and finally got a job at a place I never even applied to (don't ask me how that works). It's tough out there right now.

People have been telling me to do that, but I'm afraid I'm going to come off as annoying for bothering them and the manager will be like "he's already annoying and he doesn't work here, so why would I hire him?".

Man, forget about finding a part time job - if you're that afraid of stepping on people's toes you're not going to accomplish anything in life. He'll probably view it as you taking initiative and showing that you want the job more than other applicants. In fact, the reason you probably haven't been able to find a job is because other applicants ARE calling back and they are getting hired over you.

Found another one. "Work from home answering surveys!", sounds like a perfect job heh. So many new stores they're building around here in the desert and it feels like you need to sleep with someone just to get a damn interview!

imo, thats a pretty poor way of looking at it. Think about corporate America (and this goes for 99% of the jobs out there), they want self-starters, people with initiative, not "yes-men" who sit back and wait for instructions. And whats the worst that happens? They dont hire you, is that any worse than where you are now.

Take a chance and get that job JJ!

No kidding, I thought I did abysmal on one of those tests and she's like wow, that's the best I've seen anyone do. I was thinking have any of the people you've ever hired ever even seen a computer before?

If not that, then some factory work. Lord knows JJ could use a tough job to man him up a little.

It's too much work. It's easier to just complain all the time and not follow up on anything.
