Re: OS Off Topic
The past few months my PC vents were very noisy. And my PC used to freeze, and sometimes the monitor just went from green mode to orange mode (went to sleep) all of a sudden. It's probably becuase of the adapter's vent thet was full of dust. So 5 minutes ago I opened it, used a vacuum cleaner and hopfully cleaned all the dust from there. Now it's very quiet, but for how long...?My Specs:
ZX Spectrum
CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB
OS: Sinclair BASICComment

Re: OS Off Topic
**************************************
Anyways, last night I found a ring I thought I lost. I don't like wearing jewelry but this was the ring my grandmother on my mother's side gave me as he was dying. I was just a kid and I used to go into his room and dab his head with a wet cloth and tell him how he was going to be ok and everything. I think my being there and helping him even though I was really young lifted his spirits because literally a day or two after I came back to Canada he died. Anyways i'm wearing the ring he gave me right now and it's my one connection to him.
I loved that grandfather a lot even though I barely knew him well. In fact, in NYC in my cousin's room she had a picture of my grandfather and grandmother (who I knew a lot more) and I was looking at the picture and I literally cried my heart out.

Re: OS Off Topic
I just had the ****tiest car day...so far in my young life.
First I'm coming back from McDonald's after trying out their southern style chicken sandwich (Yes sir!). I'm about to come out onto a 4 way highway and for some reason I temporarily lost my mind. I drive across it and begin to turn down THE WRONG SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY! Like WTF! I then realize this and pull into the turning lane next to the median (faced the wrong way) to try to get out of the way and avoid an accident. Fortunately there was about 200 yards between me and the next rush of vehicles so I was able to turn out and go across and turn around in a bank. OMG so embarrassing. I can't believe I did that. Wow I'm a moron.
Anyway, on my way back home my rear passenger door comes open on the opposite side of the drivers side and I had laundry in the back. So I had to pull over (and damn near blocked a one-way street which could have resulted in me getting t-boned but I realized this at the last second and moved) and get out and shut that door. Damn.
So I'm like "OK, this sucks. Worst driving day for me. I don't think it can get worse. I'll bounce back! Just like a rough first half! I got this!"
So I'm at the laundromat about to leave and then my car won't start. Me, well, I'm pretty ignorant of automobiles so I pretty much bent over and spread my cheeks. I tried about 10 minutes to get it to start shifting between park and neutral with no avail. Then I called my dad who pretty much said to do the same thing I had already done so I tried again for another 30 mins with no progress. So I called him back again and he came down 40 minutes later. Turns out there was corrosion on the battery...
So he got it cleaned up and after about 90 minutes of me being parked in front of the laundromat after having all of my clothes done I finally make it back and I'm pretty mad.

Re: OS Off Topic
Ah depression sucks. I'm in between meds right now, and that plus constantly having to carry around a box cutter at work is a bad combination. Thank goodness for all the puppies and kittens there (PetSmart) or else I'd probably go insane there. But honestly, I'd rather almost just have depression and not be so cognisant of it than be as aware of it as I am. It makes it a lot more maddening knowing that there is a problem and knowing that there is some stuff you can do, but for the most part you just know it sucks and it shouldn'tComment
