    Re: OS Off Topic

I just watched the New York Jets get jobbed in the game where Barry Sanders became only the 3rd RB to run for 2000 yards in a season. Both teams needed a win to enter the playoffs and well, the Jets got jobbed near the end of the game.

I guess that franchise is almost as snake bitten as the Bills are in some ways.

I really wish Muse would tour in the US. After hearing their live stuff, I really want to see them live.

So I finally ate at Panera for the first time. My sandwich was excellent and exactly what I wanted. But I probably won't be back for a while cause it's too expensive.

Then I picked up Ghost Recon for $10 at Gamestop. I never got around to playing it when it first came out, but I figured its gotta be worth $10.

And the local CD/DVD/Video Game Exchange has a Dreamcast for $20, cables for $8, memory unit for $1, controller $?, and Test Drive Le Mans for $12 (as well as some other games like Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio, DOA 2, etc). It kills me each time I go in there because I always almost buy it, but then I realize I don't need anymore games.

I like Panera, it reminds me of Vermont Sandwich Company.

            Re: OS Off Topic

Best part of Panera is the free WiFi...not a fan of their sandwiches though, too complex. Same reason I hate Quizno's.

I can't decide whether or not I want to sell all of this collectible NASCAR stuff or not. Back when I was 6-12, I used to be a huge NASCAR fan, and my whole family would get me a bunch of little die-cast cars for my birthday, Christmas, and at random times. Since we just moved I had to go up in my attic and found 5 Rubbermaid tubs full of cars...I'd say total there's about 150-200. I even found a lifesize cardboard cutout of Jeff Gordon and a tire off of his car that my grandmother bought me at Pocono one year. Total, I'd say there's like $1,500 worth of stuff that was just sitting around collecting dust. I really have no place to put it now. I don't have anywhere to display it and I'm not allowed to put it, or any of my other stuff, in the basement (one of the reasons I left, another story). Now that I got that nice little fine strapped on me, I'm in need of some extra cash, so selling it seems like the logical choice.

I can't convince myself to do it, though. All that crap was a huge part of my childhood, I remember looking at all of it and wishing I could play with it, in the meantime playing with the other 100+ that my family bought me. On top of that, there's really not a market for the stuff. Everything I see on eBay isn't going for anywhere near what it's worth, and the people selling it just want to get it out of their hands. I do too, but for fair value. I don't know of anywhere else I could sell it, either. Also, my grandmother would be pissed beyond belief...when I said I wanted to sell the stuff, everyone told me "go ahead, but don't tell her", because she bought a majority of it with the intention of me keeping it until i was much older. So yeah, I'm torn. The thought of $1,000 sounds nice, but who knows if I'd get it.

JJLinn, i'd advise against selling everything. Trust me, I had a ton of toys and stuff from my youth that I either gave away or sold off and let's just say I regret it now. However, since you need money I think you should sell some but not all.

I think the tire used by Jeff Gordon would be a perfect Ebay item and could fetch some good money if you give the item the right kind of sales push.

I have a bunch of little toy diecast cars, too, JJLinn. Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, I got hundreds of small die-cast cars of every race car driver there was at the time. I don't need any extra cash and don't want to sell them, though. I don't play with them anymore, but they're still cool to have as I am still a huge NASCAR fan.

Maybe you'll regret it, but ask yourself if this is something you want to move around with you for the rest of your life. If you need the money try to sell it on Craigslist, maybe you'll find a more naive buyer. As for the tire, if you have the authenticating paperwork it sounds like it may be a pretty good item for EBay, or you could possibly sell it to a local sports bar.

That's true I don't think I could've kept moving around a big humpty dumpty toy box and a huge box of metal cars. (as an aside, it sucks that toy cars today are so cheaply made) I do have a lot of memories playing with my cars. I used to call them my dinky cars and i'd create a traffic jam on the carpet as I conversed with the cars! LOL

Wow is anyone else watching the 2008 Big League Baseball Championship on ESPN? Puerto Rico was up 4-0 going into the 7th (final inning). They have completely self destructed with multiple errors and a hit by pitch and are now up 4-3 with 1 out, bases loaded for the team from South Carolina.

And South Carolina wins it 5-4 on a bases loaded double to bring in the tying and winning runs.

I just completed THE BOURNE CONSPIRACY (on trainee level, I know I suck at these kinda games) and it's surprisingly short. The game is actually pretty good and I enjoyed it but boy did it ever end on a whimper.

Oh well I think some of the gameplay mechanics and such are very good and should be incorporated in other games of that type.

My wife and I just spent half an hour of searching. We were searching for a document paper we needed and it wasn't where it was supposed to be. You know that feeling that you're looking for something important and it ain't where you left it? But we found it so it's all good.
                            My Specs:

                            ZX Spectrum
                            CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
                            GPU: Monochrome display
                            RAM: 48 KB
                            OS: Sinclair BASIC

I don't think it came with any authenticating paperwork, but there's a "24" written in chalk on the side of the tire and there is some noticeable wear, so it's definiately been used. My grandmother bought it for 20 bucks back in, I want to say, '97 or '98, so I'd imagine I might be able to net $100 for it at least.

The authenticating paperwork isn't a necessity for selling, I just figured it had some value for you.
