    Quick Question

My lady doesn't eat tomato sauce on pasta because she says she doesn't like it. No problem. But, she puts ketchup on everything???

Anyone else know anyone that does this?

    Re: Quick Question

Maybe she doesn't like the tomato sauce because there are still traces of tomatoes in it... like little chunks.

I hate tomatoes, but I like ketchup and love spaghetti sauce... it's understandable.

Yeah, that's the same as me, I can eat any tomato stuff but I don't like tomatoes by themselves.

I know Traditional Ragu sauce doesn't have any of that. It does have these stupid pieces of onion in it though which I have to pick out every time I eat pasta.

Your problem isn't the onions, it's that you're eating Ragu... ewwww. lol... Maybe it's because I was raised on home-made sauce, but I can't stand that stuff.

Coming from an Italian home it's a Mortal Sin to eat any sauce out of a jar.

I guess maybe it's more common then I thought.

I'm right there with you, bro. My mom was born in Italy. Preproduced spaghetti sauce didn't exist in my house.

I make (well try) my Great Grandmothers recipe for sauce not too chunky so I don't think that's her problem. I think I'll just chalk it up to insanity.

Ketchup and Tomato Sauce taste nothing a like, so I'm not really sure what the point is. She clearly likes one taste, and not the other.

                        I hear you.

I remember one time in middle school I wanted Spaghetti for dinner. I kept begging and begging my mom for it but she was like "i dont have any sauce ready blah blah blah"... so eventually I won, and she stopped and got some Ragu and poured it over spaghetti... the stuff's terrible.... just awful. I learned my lesson.

My mom will make a ton of sauce at a time and just keep it frozen for when she makes something that requires sauce. She makes a meat-sauce with basically whatever meat she feels like... usually sausage though... like a hot sausage (hot dog shaped) that you would make a sandwich out of. She used to always put pork chops in the sauce and just let them soak until they fall apart... it's so good.

What kind of sauce do the italian mothers of the posters here make? I'm curious.

HAHA I hear that. My grandpa would roll over in his grave if I bought a jar of ragu.
