I guess it's a little more expensive in Charlotte than the Triangle. If you drove out to Charlotte, did you happen to notice the prices on I-40 around the Mebane/Burlington area, where they usually have the real low gas prices advertised? I'm gonna be heading to Charlotte in a couple weeks.

I saw it around 1.69 in that area, but this was on Monday. It was that much all the way to Greensboro. Then went back up to 1.79.

Could be. Plus, any time the stock market goes up, it seems like the base gas price and crude oil goes up. When the economy is in the tank, there's less demand for gasoline, so the price is lower. When the economy is thriving, there is far more demand and, thus, the price is high.

From what I've heard, China's economic troubles started the oil price tumble and now that the global economy seems to be heading towards a recession, that has caused the price to get even lower.

I mean, we had Russian ships playing war games in Venezuelan waters the other day which would normally make the oil price go up, but the demand is apparently so low that the price didn't even go up.

Works for me, though! Gas is between $1.69-$1.79 here, which is quite nice! It sure beats $4 per gallon gasoline!!!

I read a blurb where the idiots of OPEC say that oil should be $75 a barrel.
