We had a small one in Jersey a few years ago. It just felt like a big truck was going by.

They say pets can detect that kind of ish. When my sister was still living in Honolulu, her dog started barking like crazy a few seconds before that quake struck that messed up the Big Island back in Oct. 2006. She lost power all day and called me not too long after it happened to see if I knew what was going on.

Yeah I felt the main quake but did not feel the aftershock. Happened around 4:40 AM here, about 20 miles west of St Louis. Minor debris caused some roads to be closed briefly but nothing major.

Or you can live in NY and just worry about gun shootings and stabbings.

No seriously, everywhere is dangerous. I always find it funny when people suggest that you shouldn't live in a certain area.

kind of freaky in a way. I mean everything in your house is shaking and the floor beneath you is shaking.

I've been through a tornado (twice) and now through this minor earthquake and I've gotta tell you, the earthquake freaked me out more than those two tornadoes. Both during the event and after. Because after the intial earthquake, there is a chance that aftershocks could happen and unlike tornadoes, there is no Dopplar Radar or storm cloud thats going to give you a "heads up" that it may be coming.
