    Warranty problem with HDTV

I need some help with a warranty problem. Last march I bought a Magnavox LCD from Home depot. In December the display went out. The service center came out and got my TV. In March I finally got a refurbed TV(yea that sucks). It came with a shadowy image burned into the display. I called magnavox and the service center came and got my TV. I finally recieved it back Friday. Well I just had time to run home a let the delivery guys in and then I had to head back to work. I get home and low and behold there is a big line running down the middle of the TV when turned on. Now, the question is what should I do. I've already tried to get my money back, but magnavox will not budge. They no longer make this parts for this TV so all I can get is a refurbed TV. I tried to get them to upgrade to a newer model but they will not. Should I seek legal advice to try to get my money back or a newer TV. I mean I've had 3 TV's all with problems and I have had a TV in my house for about 2 weeks since December. Any help or advice would be appreciated. What sucks more is the TV is paid for.

Have you tried going into Home Depot with TV (or a picture of issue) and your receipt. Talk to a manager and explain it to them, and strong arm them a bit. If that doesnt work, without a 3rd party warranty, all you can do is try Magnavox again.

i purchased an extended warranty with home depot. It took a month for me to be able to use there warranty. The magnavox only had a 90 labor warranty and a1 year display warranty. HD's warrant kicksin after the labor warranty expired. Home Depot at first said it could do nothing until 1 year of the purchase. I got that taken care of, but now I am fighting this battle.

Im not sure what to tell you. I guess im a bit of a prick when it comes to things like this. I dont yell, or scream, or threaten everyone, but im pushy. I worked at Best Buy in college at Customer Service and TV's so i know what its like to get yelled at, thus i never do it. But i let them know that i paid for a product/service, they reaped the benefit of selling it to me, id like to reap the benefit of using said product/service. If they cant fix the TV after a few times, lemon law it and get a new one. If they keep giving you refurbs, bring up the point that at some point your warranty ends and you will be stuck with a broken TV, not acceptable. Just lay it out for them

I don't think I've been rude or ugly, I have tried a lot of what you said, I called maganvox and they said they are handling warranties different now and that everything is under a 5 day turnaround. We will see about that. I have learned when it comes to electronics buy from a store that has local support, like a Conn's. What sucks is the service center is in Houston and I live 2 hours away.

The new way its being handled shouldn't be applied to you since you bought the TV before the change? I would just keep contacting them about the 2 replacements you've had being faulty and be persistent on recieving a refund or a new TV since you've been getting refurbished junk
