What's wrong with young men these days?

I took my family to the movies last night, and as we were walking in two young guys probably around twenty years of age walked by throwing out f-bombs. Here I am with my 4 year old daughter and we have to listen to this mess. There's no doubt they saw her. They just looked at me daring me to say something, but my wife had already warned me to be calm. We could tell before they got to us that they would be acting like this.

A few days earlier we were walking into the mall, and the exact same thing happened. These weren't teenagers; they were young men. Again, I knew before we even got close how they would be acting and speaking.

Being a gentleman and considerate of others, especially females, is apparently not practiced by many young guys these days. What a bunch of jerks we have in American society. Are you one?

I curse in public with my friends, but whenever I see younger children I always calm my language down. They don't need to hear that.

I've always been one of those people that really don't see bad in words. There's no such things as a curse word to me its all about context. I don't really use the f word to say "**** you " to people to much, I use it more in other ways that isn't malicious, just another word. I just think there are alot of other things kids learn and see that are worse than words. To me words are just that, words nothing else, I put alot more stock in actions.

I don't really ever curse unless I am either really mad or I hurt myself or get hurt. My parents would not have put up with me cursing so I just never did it in normal conversation or with friends. I can find plenty of other words to say than curse words.

Words carry a lot of power. If words are just words, then I can go into my classroom and tell my students anything and it doesn't matter. People slip up all the time and swear when they're mad or hurt, which I think is ok to an extent. But to walk around in public and use f*** as an adjective and sprinkle it in every other sentence....come on. How could you think that's appropriate? That's bad manners, inconsiderate, and juvenile.

What's stupid is my initial desire to grab a baseball bat and smack these dudes around. Almost makes me worse, and would for sure if I acted on it. Lord help me, I can't stand punks. I just gotta pray to love 'em and be respectful the best I can.

One of the many reasons I work out and take insane amounts of supplements like a mad man.

I'm not trying to sound like a tough guy, but if that was me, they are getting dealt with for sure.

I suggest be wise. Nowadays it doesn't matter how much you bench. Now they will just shot you. It is better to just ignore it and move on. Or take your family to another movie theater. I don't go to the one around here. There are a lot of punk and gang bangers. So we go to the one that is a little further.

Sadly I have a friend that does exactly this, every where we go and it's embarrassing to be with him at all times. Not sure why he does it or if he notices he's doing it so maybe I'll have to ask him next time, he also 'wears' his pants pretty damn low for whatever reason.

By the way they were dressed and carried themselves. Two white guys from the rich side of town pulled alongside me and were screaming obscenities a few months ago. I think they didn't like the way I was driving, but I invited them to Starbucks to further discuss the matter. At the movies, it was two Hispanic guys. At the mall it was a racial mix. So it's not a racial thing. It's mainly a pack mentality thing where they get together and act stupid.

Immaturity and the attempt to sound "tough" around the friends, but ultimately failing and looking like a degenerate.

To be honest, doesn't bother me. If they are not directing obsenities at me, who am I to tell someone what they can and can't say? Because I don't agree with it doesn't give me the right to push my will on someone elses personal freedom. Agree or disagree with what they say or how they are acting, it's personal freedom that makes this country great.

Is it inconsiderate, certainly, is it something that I put a lot of thought in to? No. I usually just head the other direction. I am certainly not going to get in to a confrontation over profanity. Like somehow violence is the lesser of the two evils.
