Yes it is! My dad is a pilot, so I'd say he flies around 1,000 times or more a year.

I usually fly 2-4 times a year when I go vacationing to Florida. However, I have already flown 2 times this year and look to be flying a lot of the summer, so I might fly 8 or so times this year.

    Some tips:

    - Don't check your bags unless you have to. It's all the better to not have the deal with the baggage claim which is a pain and you could lose your luggage. I would much rather either bring my baggage onto the plane if it is possible.

    - Like someone else said, liquids over 3 ounces is a no-no. And all liquids and toothpastes, deodorants, and other toiletry items should go in a plastic bag.

    - If you are bringing a laptop, you have to take it out of the case at security, so be prepared. This also goes for ipods and cell phones. You also must take your shoes, wallet, hat, and anything else on you or in your pockets off to go through the X-ray machine.

    - Bring a magazine or just have fun looking out the window and enjoying your bird's eye view (If you have a window seat).

    - Have Fun!!!

I fly all the time. Get in your seat, put your ipod on and go to sleep. It's what I do every flight.

I went on my first flight in July. I was pretty nervous because the night before I left there was a marathon on Dicovery Channel about flight crashes and I made the intelligent move of watching it. Unfortunatley my flight couldn't land and circled an airport for like 2 hours before we went back to Ottawa and the flight was cancelled.

The only tip I have is to chew gum during take-off and landing because of the change in air pressure hurts the ears.

I flew 9 hours straight each way to hawaii and back a few months ago, and it's a pretty smooth process. I had a DS loaded with games to play, but after 4 hours that got boring. On my way back I slept most of the time. Only had to check one bag, which was waiting for me when I got back.

Planes trips are super smooth and easy. Even more when you're just going for 2 hours or so. You won't have to worry about your bags getting lost on a transcontinental flight. also, I did notice how my ears hurt bad landing the first time because they had more than enough time to adjust to the pressure change flying 9 hours.

I may be taking a trip across the atlantic this summer. Last time I went to England I couldn't sleep on the damn plane. This time i'm taking sleeping pills before I go.

Oh and I gotta take more flights using JetBlue (went from Buffalo to NYC) I just basically watched ESPN through the whole flight

Word, I think flying is the most boring thing ever- I like flying but I can't keep my eyes open. I fly a good amount and I have a good routine.

I usually have a book, my PSP, or my iPod (when it worked).

95% of the time, I'm passed out by the time the plane takes off. The best is when I wake up on touchdown.

Sleeping on a plane is great. The last time I didn't pass out was when I was coming back from London after studying abroad in 2003- T3 and some other movies were on so I stayed up.

I usually pass out after getting to my seat, then wake up after take off when I can get on my laptop and work/watch a movie.

I love how in the air the land looks like one huge grid. Especially in Texas and stuff Texas is really brown with little green boxes. It's looks so cool.

I flew in an airplane for the first time in 2005. I was nervous as hell. Once we got to our destination (flew from Chicago Midway to Orlando and back by the way) I told my dad if we ever go some where that takes more then six hours to drive to I want to fly. He got a laugh out of it. Flying is not that bad. Going through security is the worst part.

The main thing is simply don't worry.

While I'm too baller to fly commercial (well, that and my father and I work for a general aviation group), you won't ever outgrow worrying about safety or crashing, but it never happens. As others said, if it's a long flight, sleeping pills+headphones=waking up in your destination in 1/10th of the time you would be driving.

If I'm right, have a couple cocktails at the bar before the flight. AND I ONLY MEAN A COUPLE. Just don't have Jack D. You'll be wanting to f*** the flight attendants and fight the pilots. Or vice versa. LOL.
I've only been on a couple flights where I have just absolutely gotten this jungle urge to jump the bones of the ladies passing out drinks. Haven't flown yet with drinks in my system.. hopefully that moment comes very soon.

If you are flying Southwest or some airline where there is no reserved seating, when you get in your seat pretend to be sick so no one will sit by you.

I love flying. I always get a kick out of people who look really nervous when taking off

Takeoff and landing will be the most unnatural feeling for you (not tryin to scare ya) but its like the swings as a kid with your stomach at times
