Isn't it interesting that we are competing with India for oil when it is US corporations outsourcing everything they can to India to buildup that economy?

Re: Should the Speed Limit be lowered to 55 again?
Man i don't need oil prices to dictate to me how to spend the money i work for. Im sorry but I don't agree with that, and I don't agree with slowing the speed limit.
In a place like California that's not the issue where I go. Have you rode the 405 freeway? It's the worst in the nation. If a terrorrist wanted to take out a mass amount of people its a daily target its so freaking gridlocked.
It's hard to go 75 feet in a 5-10 minute span sometimes and you think i want to go any slower than that?Comment

The gas would go down but I hate going any slower than 60. I usually go anywhere from 70-80.New Orleans HornetsSeries tied at 3, Game #7 on MondayWin or Go Home

There's a show called "That 70s Show". It's a comedy that ran from 1998 to 2006 that took place during the late 70s. It popularized Ashton Kutcher, Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, and Wilmer Valderrama.
In the show, there is a character named Steven who is a marijuana smoker and conspiracy theorist. When the characters smoke their marijuana, Steven often babbles about a "car that runs on water" and how it is a large conspiracy between the government and the oil companies to keep it under wraps.Comment

Re: Should the Speed Limit be lowered to 55 again?
No! Not by the federal government at least. I'm getting sick of the US government federalizing everything... If individual states want to do it, so be it, but I really would not like to see it happen.
Oh yeah... by the way... we have a ENORMOUS wealth of something that sits right beneath our feet which can be transformed into oil. It's called coal. We are the coal capital of the world. In the past, coal-conversion was too expensive since you could cheaply obtain oil from the Middle East, but now that oil is over $120 a barrel, this would be cheaper. This technology is not new. Hitler used it back in World War II in fact. We have tons of coal, so I honestly think this is the way to go, at least for the short term. I'm sure our politicians won't do anything about it, though...Last edited by superjames1992; 05-16-2008, 04:23 PM.Comment

I don't think burning coal would help us become more environmentally friendly. I can't even imagine the amount of pollution that would be produced by burning enough coal to help allieviate our energy needs.Washington State University Cougars
